That made Ky uneasy, too. Papa always told her that secrets were dangerous. To not trust anyone who told her to keep a secret from him. It meant they were up to no good. This felt like a similar situation, though there was no chance Papa could have ever predicted this. She inclined her head. “Hopefully.” She glanced around. “…are you open to answering questions?” Septimus was not. But she didn’t want to liken the two of them if they’d had a falling out.
