Bay was on the wall she was searching, quite a ways down the line.

She very much felt boxed in on both ends now, wanting to move away from the stranger and Bay at the exact same time. Only she was in the middle of them. So... towards Bay it was, then. She picked her way along the wall, casting a few gazes over her shoulders to see if she was being followed, but actively trying to be sure she wouldn't make eye contact.

The stranger had made no move to follow her. A couple of the soldiers nodded to her or offered murmured greeting as she passed but otherwise they paid no heed.

Ky returned whatever variety of acknowledgment they offered her, but stayed mostly focused on getting to Bay quickly. As much as she didn't want to talk to him, she wanted even less to stay up here surrounded by soldiers. So she made decent time until she was about twenty steps from Bay or so, at which point her legs seemed to slow down of their own accord, until she was only shuffling forward now.

Bay heard her coming and turned, straightening his spine even more and giving her a nod. "Miss Ky," he said. "Good to see you; how are you today?"

"Um, so, Gaius and um, I, were, uh... talking about the, uh... sparring lessons?" She looked at him questioningly, trying to get a feel for if he still wanted to teach or not. Did he even have a choice? "And, um, well, if you still want to um teach me then I would, um, appreciate that..."

He looked down at her, no change in his expressionless face. "Most certainly. When would you like to start?"

"Um... when would be convenient for you?" It was so unsettling that his expressions didn't match his words. Namely, that he had no expressions at all, despite his words being kind. She had to focus on not squirming. "I'm good for whenever."

"Now?" She blinked, a little alarmed by that turnaround. But she'd just said whenever he said was fine. So. "Um... sure. Okay. Um... Tomhas is looking for you going that way--" she gestured. "He asked we wait for him down there if I found you first."

"Yessirokay." She nodded as she awkwardly tried to cut herself off, too late. She turned and started back down the path in the opposite direction, choosing not to acknowledge her mistake.
