Aashi nodded and got dressed quickly, then went to Sera's office.

(That's very strange....)

Sera had gotten out several pregnancy books. "Right, so you know about the dietary restrictions and requirements, right?"

(Right? Then again this is the man who called my sister Holly because she was born on Christmas when her name is Deborah haha grandpa out here going rogue lol)

“Like, limit salt? And drink a lot of water?”

(Oh fair XD)

"Drink water, absolutely no alcohol or caffeine. Limit honey and soft cheeses. There's a whole list--mostly, balance your meals to include the main categories."

“No caffeine?” She blinked.

She shook her head. "It can hurt the baby."

“Oh.” She rubbed her belly, guilt instantly dumping into her. She’d stopped drinking wine the moment she even had the inkling of a suspicion that she may be pregnant. But she didn’t know about the caffeine. Had she already hurt the baby with her tea consumption? Had she risked Tasia’s health? Would Tasia develop health problems later in life because of her caffeine consumption before? She hadn’t known.

"You're alright to move about but be careful on the stairs, make sure you don't fall or bump your stomach too much."

“Okay.” Aashi nodded, hand still over her belly protectively. She hadn’t had to deal with stairs the last time, either.

"I'll give you a list of foods you should definitely try to eat and we can go over it together. Use other mothers as a resource as well--me, Sara, any servants or librarians."

“Okay.” Aashi nodded, blushing a little. “I… can’t read… still… I haven’t been being very disciplined… but-but if you read it out to me I can probably remember most of it.”

"Most certainly! It'll take me awhile to get it all written out but then I can go over that with you. Also: Let Tadaaki take care of you, but don't let him smother you. In my experience men tend to panic when they're faced with a pregnant wife--they're not sure what to do with themselves and sometimes they're a bit overzealous. I'll see if Tomhas and Gaius can talk with him and keep him occupied when you need space."

Aashi nodded. “Aaki tends to be good with that sort of thing, thankfully… I’m pretty sure I’d have to hold a knife to his throat to get him to be completely honest with me about how he’s feeling, but he’s incredibly attentive in reverse. Good at checking in with me and respecting my wishes.”

"That's great! Then you shouldn't have too much to worry about."

(I know very little about rules for pregnancy and stuff)

Aashi nodded. “Hopefully the sickness passes soon… then it’ll just be… well, the bad part. But it ends with a baby. So, worth it.”
