Ky nodded, keeping her arm around him as they walked. She was quiet for a moment, guilt bubbling up in her as she felt him trembling against her. “…I’m sorry if I shouldn’t have told you. I didn’t think about it.”

"I guess it's good to know we're...sharing space with supernatural creatures," he said quietly. "Better than not knowing, right?"

“Is it?” she asked gently, looking at him thoughtfully.

"Not really." He gave her a miserable look. "But I'll tell myself it is."

“Sorry.” She cringed. She definitely wasn’t going to tell him if anything else happened.

"Not your fault. Sorry I didn't believe you."

“It’s okay.” Ky shrugged, glancing over her shoulder. “I’d probably have a hard time believing me too. It seems far fetched to say the least.”

"I genuinely thought you had a concussion."

Ky smirked at that, letting out a huff of a chuckle. “It’s okay. Gaius didn’t believe me about Rönn until he heard him himself… and you couldn’t hear them. Or see them.”

"Nope..." He glanced at her. "How did you do it then?"

“What?”

"See them. Like...how?"

“Oh, I have no idea.” Ky shook her head. “I heard music and thought it was you so I went towards it and I walked in this little parlor and Lord Abel was playing the violin for Lady Liesel. We were all very confused by it.”

He nodded. "I bet." His trembling hadn't lessened, but he tried to sound upbeat.

She needed to distract him, but how? “They said they’re not around all the time, too. That sometimes they go to sleep for a long time.”
