"Mm." She once again had to stop herself from shoving her hands into her pockets. "Okay." That sort of took them back to the same problem, did it not? If all of her was her 'personality' then that meant it wasn't possible to manipulate people, which was verifiably untrue. Unless her entire personality was being a manipulator. In which case... yay. What a wonderful thought.

Gaius glanced at her. "Does that help a little?"

(yay!)

"...I guess so," Ky said reluctantly. "... I'm just tired. All of the time." And no amount of pep talks was ever going to change that.

Gaius nodded. "Eating helps with that, or so I'm told." He couldn't remember the last time he wasn't tired.

"Mm... guess we'll find out," she said flatly. She glanced away. "I'm not particularly hopeful it's going to make me feel better whatsoever, though."

"It's a start, at least. Having some energy can certainly help with depression."

“Maybe… or it’ll just give me energy to be even more anxious,” she pointed out.

"Which do you prefer?"

“…neither.” She let herself bury her hands in her pockets this time, sullen. “I just want to sleep until I can go home.”

"Mm." He nodded. "Sleeping is enticing. What's the longest you've ever slept?"

Ky thought for a moment. "Does it have to be uninterrupted? Or are we counting if I just woke up to pee and sip water then go back to sleep within minutes?"

"Let's go with the latter."

"...I think it was twenty-four hours," she said. "...give or take... you?"

"Nine hours." He wasn't in the habit of sleeping for long; sleep was dangerous for a great many reasons.

“Oh.” Now she felt embarrassed. “… well… that’s probably better. I woke up with the world’s worst headache and felt like garage for the rest of the day.”
