But she didn’t know what to do about it or how to fix it.
There was no way to fix it.
She could be mean enough to him he’d leave. But what good would that do? It’d just make her feel worse. Make him feel bad. And push him even further away.

Maybe, for once, she’d stop agonizing about what he wanted and just do what she wanted: to stay in bed for the rest of her life.
It’d take Tomhas a solid week to check all the bedrooms to find her.
Even though she knew fully well Gaius would rat on her right away. Probably even give him the spare key so he could let himself in and not try to talk his way in.
