"That seems nice," Ky said with a little smile, increasingly deciding that she liked Emery. He was easy to talk to. Which made him dangerous in a sense. She'd need to remember to keep her guard raised. She couldn't risk slipping up and him telling Ash -- in fact, she was almost certain he would. There must be a reason he was the one babysitting her out of anyone. Give her a charismatic young man to make her chatty. It wasn't going to work. But it was smart. Smart indeed.
