"And do you believe them?"

"I don't have any particular reason not to," he said honestly. "Your intellect appears to be intact, however."

"I appreciate that, at least," he said with a grunt.

"While we are on the topic, i do believe it would be best to put some illusions and wards on the cottage, both so no one discovers I am working with you - as we may need the town's cooperation - and to keep people away."

"Nobody ever comes to my house," he scoffed. "I have warning signs in the front."

"And yet we could still be spotted together and lose all of the goodwill of the town."

He huffed. "Mm, not if we stay inside."

He shook his head. He'd have to cast illusions on himself and his things only then. He checked that his notice-me-not was still active. It was, if wavering.

"But if you feel it absolutely necessary I won't object." He started off down the road.

Kivvien dipped his head. "Thank you."

"Hmf." He picked up the pace.

He matched the pace the old man set.

"Who did you speak with there?"

He told him.
