Aashi smiled and nodded in agreement. “They’re so full of nonsense — I love it. I get a play by play of everything that happens, as it develops. I’m really rooting for these two boys. Neither will make the first move but I’ve been told by each of them that they have a crush on the other. I just keep egging them both on. Hopefully I’ll have a juicy update when I return and see if my prediction is correct.” She laughed a little. “So much drama. It’s amazing. Favorite entertainment.”

So many of the ones who could do wonderful things doubt themselves into mediocrity… I hope Ky doesn’t do that. She’s got time yet to find her spark again. And with her wonderful new family to help her along I’m sure you’ll help her turn out just fine… but… well… I just wish I could show everyone how I see them, to prove that they’re so much greater than they view themselves. “Oh, ah, uh…” she considered it a moment, glancing at Gaius. She had no idea what had happened other than Ky misbehaved — but he seemed equally pissy. So it probably has to do with him, too. She glanced back at Sara. “Honestly my best advice when it comes to teens is to just listen to them. But she won’t talk. So… not a teen I’ve got much experience with. Most of the ones back home are just dying to have someone to complain to… but pretty sure Ky would have to lose a leg before she’d be willing to complain. At least to me. I don’t pretend to know how she interacts with you.”

“Mm…” Aashi drummed her fingertips on the arm of her chair. “I’m thinking of coming up with something to ask her to help me with. Like a hobby or something. I have no ideas — completely open to suggestions — but I feel like if she’s got something else taking up some of her focus she’ll forget to censor herself. Maybe. I don’t know. But I think it’d help her if she felt needed. We all know she’s wanted, but I think she’s having trouble believing that. But if she can feel useful? Maybe? Something with low effort and high reward. Give her little confidence boosts.”
