Risk and Reward

"Great. You gonna be there all day?"

"Usually am, unless I'm holding court."

"Holding court?"

"Yup." He crossed his arms. "Any more questions?"

"Nope, see you whenever I've got a couple of minutes today."

"Great, looking forward to it! Just step into the big rocks to the right of the waterfall, okay?"

"So it's a creepy waterfall cave. Alright, I'll do that."

"Great. See you then! Oh, and make sure you eat beforehand."

"Uh-huh. How do I end this call thing anyway?"

"Just take the rock out. Oh, and I'll want it back, so bring it along."

"Okay. Bye." She knelt down and reached into the water to pull out the stone.

"B--" The moment the stone left the water he was cut off.

Queenie wrapped the stone back up and tucked it back away in her bag. As soon as she was back in the common area, she was pulled away. Another gig she was wanted for, another meeting her father wanted her to be part of, and on and on until the early afternoon, when she finally had the chance to slip away.

She arrived at the waterfall around three o'clock, bag slung over her shoulder, she followed the elf's instructions.

The stones turned out to be a simple rock face with no cave to be seen.

She sighed. Great. Prank or puzzle? This was a lot of effort to go to for a prank, but then again, she'd seen people go further for less.

She examined the rocks anyway.
