"No." Ada got off the bed and knelt in front of her, gazing at her intently. "If you give up then they win. Keep running or turn and face them and slash their faces to ribbons. You're powerful, Ky, more than you know. Don't let them step on you. Alright? Don't let them win."

"Who cares if they win?" The tears were winning again and she rubbed her face roughly. "They're already winning. The trolls. The gods. The sun. I don't want to fight any of them. I just want to go be with my Mama and Papa. They're waiting for me. Papa always said she was waiting for us." Her voice broke and tears fell faster than she could combat them. "And now he is too."

(Homie those tenets sound a lot like UU principles and I am HERE for it. Let's go, Prismatism!!!!)

"But does he want you to go so soon?" She grasped Ky's hands. "You're not there yet. One day it will be your time, but not yet. You've still got fight in you. The way you snapped at Ash. The way you've befriended a literal cannibal cryptic. You're doing great things and you'll do more. Believe that."

Ky squeezed her hands in return but didn't make eye contact. She couldn't. What was she doing? Trauma dumping like this? She was supposed to be comforting her -- and now look at them, roles reversed.

"I'm so tired," Ky whispered, voice weak. "I don't want to have to fight more. To run more. I just want... I want... I don't want any of this."

(UU is the same; there are Jewish UUs, Christian UUs, pagan UUs, etc. Super inclusive. I bet it would pair well with Prismatism!)

"Then rest for a little, then get back up and dust yourself off. You've got things to do, people to meet. You're the sort of person the gods dream about with big things in mind--good things."

(That's awesome! I'm reading a bit about it now/looking up other cults to make our RP less iffy haha but definitely seems interesting at first glance!)

Ky furrowed her brow. "I don't want anything to do with gods that hurt you and Rönn."

I think we could manage making an original cult; just maybe not with existing myths that might seem appropriated)

Ada hesitated. "If it makes you feel better, I haven't had any dreams about you yet. But one day I might. I'll let you know if I do."

(agree! That's part of what I'm typing out now haha I really don't know a ton about the Heaven's Gate cult, but I feel like they have s i m i l a r vibes to what we're going for without a massive history of discrimination... dunno if it'd still be appropriation? I feel like no... but I could be wrong on that idk. But I'd feel better about borrowing from a cult than borrowing from an actual non-Christian religion/cultural practice)

"What does that mean?" Ky looked at her, alarmed.

We can talk it over with lehmanf, but I personally would be more comfortable not visibly borrowing from anything. There's also a lot of controversy around Heaven's gate since it involved mass suicide

"It means what I just said. You seem like the sort I would dream about, but it hasn't happened as of now."

"What does dreaming about me mean?" Ky asked, increasingly more afraid. "That the gods would be thinking about me -- specifically?"

"Well...yes. But usually if they're interested in someone it's similar to when you dream about a person and they only play a small part in your dream. It's never anything very big on their scale."

Ky shrank. "I don't want any of this."

"It might not happen." She shrugged. "I've been wrong before."

"No, any of this," Ky said, gesturing vaguely with a glare that wasn't directed at Ada but still definitely locked on her. "I want Zander. And I want my Papa. I don't want to know any of these horrible, horrible things that exist. I want my life back."

"That's fine," she said after a moment. "You're allowed to want that."
