The day wore on, and Sara returned about two hours after lunch. Sera and Rickard returned in early evening with the sticky cakes, other goodies, and two more people. The young man who rode in with them was about eighteen years old, with bright green eyes and an angular face covered by a light brown farmer's beard. His hair was cut short, and a brass loop ran through one ear. He was quite tall and very wiry, but he had a laborer's muscularity and dressed in plain, warm clothes befitting a peasant. He was quite cheery and chatted amicably with the other three party members. The young woman was about the same age and only five feet tall. She was very round but also had a worker's build, and she kept her blonde hair in a thick bun at the nape of her neck for extra warmth. She had blue eyes and a lightly tanned face covered in freckles. She, too, was chatting. Emery had been out grooming Valor after several hours of letting Tasia pet her, ride her, and feed her. When he saw the young man and woman, he hurried inside to find Sara.

Ky was, as usual, being clingy. Somehow, to both of them at once. Tadaaki and Aashi had both come outside to make sure Tasia behaved. And before long, it had devolved to Aashi supervising Tasia while Tadaaki leaned against the wall with Ky wrapped around his arm. She had her other hand laced through Zander’s. And they both very patiently stood there this entire time chatting quietly with her and each other.
When Tasia eventually got bored, Tadaaki and Aashi took her inside, but Ky stayed glued to Zander. The two of them started in after Emery, too, not sure what this arrival meant.

"Have either of you seen Sara?" he asked urgently. "Sera and Rickard are back. They brought friends."
