That makes sense. They'd see the world how they were taught to see it.

Exactly. That´s also a bit bad because it can create opinions that aren´t always correct or harmful to other people, that´s why I believe that school should teach children also some rules and also how different opinions can go along.

Yes. It should teach more than Maths and Science, stuff which would actually help them in life.

Yes. Like social things and how adult life works. And why you should follow your dreams.

Mhm. And why you shouldn't try to 'fit in' because you're different and that's amazing. You should know that and try to do what you do best. And not care about 'what others would think'

Absolutely. And that it is ok to be introverted or like things that other likes. The world would be boring if everyone was the same.

Are we complaining about the school system? Because I have SO many things to say if we are.

I guess you could look at it as a complaint of the educational system.

First of all, the courses themselves are heavily censored. The textbooks are blatantly white-washed, some going as far as to lie about events. We still teach kids that Thomas Edison invented the lightbulb when that’s not true. Each country writes its version of history, erasing anything they deem unsatisfactory to their narrative. I was never taught about America’s concentration camps in school. For years, I believe that Columbus discovered America and was friends with “Indians.” We’ve been lied to for years by our teachers, schools, and textbooks. The education system has failed us in many senses of the word.

@AlmostImmortal I can relate...
I wouldn't call it lying, but more like omitting of facts.
In our history textbooks, we have everything in detail about all the people who came here to rule us, and so less about the actual native rulers. It would make so much more sense to teach us about our countrypeople, instead of the nameless people who invaded.
We do have things, just not enough.

Coming to science. Saying that they're 'trying not to confuse us' or 'give us too much information', the textbooks ACTUALLY lie. Like, what is the point of learning something wrong and learning it right in a higher class??

Our school is actually pretty good, we have Value Education classes where they actually teach us stuff. But nothing yet on being different.
Personally, I am VERY different from most people my age. But I don't care. I like being different. I've learnt by experience that it doesn't matter at all what others think of you, it only matters what you think. Others think you're weird? So what? You aren't the same dead thing, going with the flow, like they all are. You need to love yourself as you are, and not try to 'live up' to people's expectations. We should be taught that in school.

Whoa, that got philosophical.

School is bad about letting feels of self-deprecation fester. You’re not enough if you’re not indispensable.
