Virgil was in his bed, trying to sleep, hoping his parents wouldn't come in. They were busy a lot during the day, so they usually came into his room to be mad at him for something he did wrong when he was trying to sleep. He heard the door open and tried to fake being asleep, hoping whoever came in would leave.
Janus flinched for a moment, before blinking. This child… relying on him… it made him feel something. He crouched down and carefully hugged back, gently picking him up.
