(Oh gosh, Ky an assassin, imagine xD)
Ky was nervous, but excited at the same time. She didn't have the first idea what to expect from this meeting, but she was happy to be included. This time as a guest, not an assistant that would be thrust into the center of attention, every behavior micro-analyzed by men with nothing better to do with their time than make her life hell.
Besides, it was nice to get out of the Keep and get some fresh air. And Loquitur still had her undying loyalty, so an excuse to spend time in his presence was welcomed besides. This would be --
Her heart lurched as her eyes landed on Aleth.
No!
No, no, no, nonononono!
God, no!
Her breath caught in her chest, sheer terror surging through her. Loquitur had promised Ash wouldn't bring Aleth. That she'd never have to be in his presence ever again.
And here he was.
Staring at her with his same icy gaze.
Ky dropped her gaze quickly, swallowing hard and forcing her expression to be drawn and impassive. She wouldn't ruin this for Loquitur. She wouldn't. No matter how badly she wanted to turn the horse and run far, far, far away.
Aleth watched Ky as she came into view, face stony and cold.
The little idiot was doing a decent job of masking her recognition of him, at least, beyond the briefest moment of surprise that'd flashed across her eyes. She clearly hadn't expected him to be here.
He hadn't expected her either.
What was Loquitur's game? Did he bring her just to gloat that he still had Aleth's servant? Aleth's gaze flicked over the rest of the party. They hadn't brought Tadaaki.
He glanced at Emery and whispered. "That's Lord Loquitur?"
