If I'm planning on starting a role play that is based on the characters solving a mystery, should I withhold information from the players? Or should I just reveal the culprit in the DT, and then we just play like that?
I'm just asking because I've never done a mystery roleplay

OOOOH MYSTERY ROLEPLAY

I say withhold information! It's actually pretty typical to withhold info in a roleplay anyways. It's so much more fun to find things out post-by-post :)

Alright, thank you! I was worried that I was starting to think too much like a DM in Dungeons and Dragons.

This is a little late and @Carina stole my answer, but I agree! D&D-style roleplaying works great - especially if you're a schemer like me. :P

Just make sure to mention to your fellow writers that you're plotting things so they don't accidentally change the plot on you. It's happened to me before, but requesting that people run plot ideas by you ahead of time usually prevents that potential problem. c:
