And actually, @Lia5Giba, that fan base idea is actually pretty interesting, we could probably scheme up something to make it realistic because . . . other than the King and Pawns . . . everyone else moves . . . REALLY fast. It would be almost impossible to follow the Knight, who can fly over the pieces, or the Bishop, who is known for her speed.

Perhaps the fanbase could act as a band of minstrels? Some loyal companions or scouts to aid the pieces on their journey?
With the king, it kind of reminds me of Arthur and his knights (except they’d probably all stick close instead of going on their own adventures).

GASP i know! You know how the towns change when a new piece enters. Well, the same thing happens with the townspeople, so if the townspeople want to join the piece, all they do is vow to serve the piece until permission of leave, and they become similar to that piece. For example, if the Knight went into a town, attracted three followers, the three followers would vow themselves to the Knight, and would suddenly all have pegasi so they can follow the Knight anywhere around the board! And when a townspeople's piece is killed, they just revert to normal.

ALSO

about the king and the crown (If you all have read my post answering all of Lia5Giba's questions), the King can also surrender the crown to an opponent as resignation btw :)

First, I was just giving a poke for the CPs.

Second, before we start, I think we should list all of the in-game rules for reference, maybe? We should discuss all the rules needed and then compile them on the DT.

Third, my plan is that it will be the second match between the chess pieces. They've been through one game already, and it exhilarated them. Now, as they prepare for the second one, something is off . . . it seems like they can move freely . . . that's the plan.

So they all know each other already?
Perhaps some grudges built up from the previous game and now that it’s a free-for-all revenge can run rampant.

yup. You're right on the nose!

the only thing is it's not THAT free-for-all. The pieces still have to move at their normal speeds and unique movements. For example, the Knight wouldn't be able to move from D2 to D3. And the King wouldn't be able to move from E1 to G8.

And yes they will have grudges and generally know each other. Since there STILL are spots open, we'll just try to avoid conversation when talking about the empty-spot chess pieces.

So... who wants to be rivals?
would it be like the pieces and their black/white counterparts? or more just general hate to every piece?
