“Hey, hey, it’s okay..! It’s okay... you did the best you could,” Emile spoke softly.

Janus nodded. He slithered off of Patton and went back into his human form so his wound could be treated better.

Patton rubbed his eyes and tried to stop his tears as Remy opened the kit.

Emile kept trying to calm Patton down, while Janus got his wound taken care of.

“We only— we only split up for a few— a few minutes,” Patton hiccuped.

“I know, I know... it wasn’t your fault, you didn’t know that was gonna happen...”

Remy pulled out the alcohol and said, “this is going to sting,” in warning before gently pouring it on a towel and pressing it in the wound.

Janus hissed loudly. “Owowowowowow-“ He gripped onto Patton’s hand.

Patton whimpered a little at the strong grip. Remy grimaced. “Sorry,” he said. “Nearly done.”

Janus noticed and loosened his grip. “I-It’s fine...” he mumbled.

Patton felt awful. Maybe if he hadn’t left Janus alone this wouldn’t have happened. “I’m sorry, if I had— if we hadn’t—” he trailed off.

“I-It’s okay... it’s fine, Patton... w-wasn’t your fault...” Janus tried to calm himself down. For Patton.

“No no, stay still, I’m okay. You’re the one who’s hurt.”

Janus sighed and nodded. He was still attempting to calm down, though.

“I’ve cleaned it out,” Remy said, “so now we’re going to bandage it tightly. Hopefully it’ll stop the bleeding and reduce a bit of the pain.”

Janus nodded softly, still holding Patton’s hand a bit as Remy bandaged his wound.
