She'd gone over to Adrian's house to visit Finn a couple times in the past several days, and it had made her feel better, but this was a different kind of missing him. It was wanting him back home so their family would be whole again. It was wishing their conflicts would be resolved without any more heartache. It was longing for him to feel at home with the rest of them because it was hurting him to be away just as much as it was hurting the rest of them. Destiny closed her eyes, sighing as she thought of him.

Jay paused. "Uh..." He struggled to answer. "Well, the last winter before the bombs fell, my father was killed along with the rest of Finn's family two days before Christmas. So, no, we didn't really celebrate that year." He hated that he'd made the conversation so dark, and forced himself to put on a tight smile as he went on. "But before that, it wasn't so bad. I did grow up rather well off, and Finn's mother would put together wishlists, so we did get something each Christmas. It was alright, for a household that was never festive every other day of the year."

She smiled a little. "I remember the presents were fun, too." Her smile faded, and her gaze went slightly distant. "I remember it was really nice to spend so much time with Mom and Kamea..."

Her face was intentionally blank, but there was a slightly distant look in her dark gaze. Like she was thinking of something that she hadn't remembered in a long time, and she was trying to figure out how it made her feel.
