Cassandra Of The Lost DT

Cassandra is a Cruiser-class ship of the Earth Space Defence fleet built sometime between the initial formation of the ESD 2040s and 2056. She's a ship long thought lost to deep space. She was built roughly 20 years before the group rediscover her and has been mildly damaged in what appears to be some kind of fire fight. Cassie, as you've affectionately come to call her, is a large ship that's roughly about 200ms (656ft) long by 25ms (82ft) wide by 50ms (164ft) high. She weighs roughly 10,000 tons in atmosphere and is very slow to manoveure, but in space, she's a speed demon. Cassie can carry roughly 400-500 people--a crew of 50-odd and the rest civillians.

She has a pretty standard layout for most decks, but for the one that contains the bridge (control deck), she also has a mess hall, a gym, a lab and a bunch of cyro-chamber halls that can hold more than the max of 500 people that she can safely house, along with several large rooms dedicated to storage. The cyro-chamber halls can hold at least double that (1000 people), and some of the cryo-chambers may be occupied. Two decks below the control deck is the engine deck, which holds the engines, the fuel tanks and several more storage rooms, including several small fighter bays and two hangers for larger ships.

The rest of the decks are mostly residental and recreational areas.

The ESD are an extension of the airforce and navy forces of the world, who set out with the intention to explore and colonize new planets in distant galaxies. They were formed after a third world war (2021-2035) that destroyed a fairly large portion of the planet and caused several world-wide distasters which made the surviving nations decide to work together in a large-scale effort to find a New Earth in the late 2040s.

Life, as you may know it, differs vastly in the universe that we'd love to explore--and have finally managed to do so. From what you'd typically see on earth to perhaps what you may imagine. Life comes in all sorts of forms, and the aliens that are currently headed for your ship are as vastly different--or not too different--from what you might imagine!

Basically, anything humanoid that could pass for human would probably work here!

• Humans; this is pretty straight forward. Humans who were born on Earth or one of the handful of human colonies in the galaxy, or were manipulated on a genetic level--usually these are ones from Earth. There's a Lunar Settlement and a Mars one, along with a bunch of other satelites and various outposts. A list of the major ones will be included below;

• The Valkai; a rare, dying race of immortal-esque creatures that generally look human unless pushed to reveal a more beastial nature. Most tend to have rare or unique eye colours such as amythest or silver but generally, any eye colour a human has, they probably do as well, along with a vast array of skin colours, etc. Their eyes turn red when they need to feed and they feed on blood and/or energy depending on their needs. Their homeworld is a distant planet they call Valkar, but is known to humans as Kepler-452b.
  
  • Valkai Home System
• The Eldra; Androgynous-looking humanoid with pale violet-grey skin that sometimes looks blueish under certain lights and dark purple-black hair. Their eyes can be various colours on the UV spectrum, and can be anywhere from dark blue to pale violet. The Edlra race all look fairly similar with minor differences---more blue, more grey or more violet depending on rank/family/bloodlines. The more purple one has, the more "pure" the bloodline, or so the theory goes. The darker the hair, also the more pure. Their homeworld is a distant planet they call Eld, but is known to humans as Kepler-62f. It's an planet mostly covered by ocean, and the Eldra are a semi-aquatic species.
