About the World

As far as aliens go? I have almost no limits! As long as it's not an alien race that's already from a well-known sci-fi franchise (like vulcans or wookies) I'm down. But even with that - they can bear similarities to other aliens from other stories and worlds, I just want them to have enough differences to set them apart if that makes sense.
I also have this idea that because of how far in the future it is, they have the cures to almost any and every known disease and stuff. I also imagine they've found ways to cure aging (to an extent) to greatly extend the lifespan of races that normally have a shorter lifespan (i.e. humans). It'd probably involve genetic modification, eventually making it so that any human existing is affected and whatnot (although I imagine it's a voluntary process, so there would be some people who choose not to undergo the modification, but they'd be a minority and considered weird).
In that same vein, I imagine it'd be common to get like, body-mods to look less human (if you're human). Like, getting wings, or antennae, or whatever. If you weren't born with such things, of course!
Just some ideas.
As far as like, politics and government and stuff works, I'm thinking the Intergalactic Guard is basically the equivalent of galaxy/universe-wide law enforcement, and the law enforcement is all under the Galactic Federation, which is probably a bunch of individual planets and galaxies that you know, made a kind of unity pact.
I'm sure there are places that aren't under the Federation - planets that have been declared inhospitable/uninhabitable, galaxies that are basically marked off as reservations meant to preserve unique planet life and resources, and parts of the universe that are still unexplored (because it's massive obviously). There are probably a few stray moon and planets where the inhabitants have expressed a desire to not be a part of the federation (but have not expressed hostile intent) and are declared independent entities.
But overall, I imagine this future is a pretty peaceful one. Like, there aren't inter-galactic wars or anything on that scale...? But there is, of course, a bunch of crime, otherwise there wouldn't be a big 'ol prison.
Anyway, that's what I've got for now. Feel free to throw ideas at me!
