His cheeks immediately grew flushed when the words sunk in, and he was startled to realize that the sensation was accompanied by warmth in the area that had turned red. "O-Oh," he said, ducking his head down in embarrassment. He should have been able to figure that out! Humans needed to eat, and Vala often complained about how badly her stomach was hurting whenever she was hungry. It didn't matter that he was technically more of an angel now - the biology must have been closer to a human's than his normal biology.

Sevy was interrupted from freaking out once again by people who seemed to know him. He turned and looked over at the two who had walked over, only pausing a moment before a smile stretched over his features.

"Grim! And Aquarius!" Though he knew that these two, especially Grim, were much different than they usually looked, they had changed so drastically and through so many forms when he had known them at the mansion that they were easily recognizable. "Fancy meeting you both here."

He reached out a fist to Grim to greet him in the same way he had greeted Damascus.

Damascus cleared his throat from behind Sevy. Something had been feeling off about his form, but he pushed it aside at the approach of the demon and angel pair.

"Oh, are these more friends of yours, Sevy?" He smiled and nodded at the two, waiting for introductions.

"Oh, right! Damascus, this is Grim and Aquarius." He gestured to each in turn. "I met them awhile ago when Kit, Leo, and I got.. lost." He chuckled a bit as he saw Damascus' reaction to his vague explanation. "I'll tell you about it later, buddy."

"And this is Damascus." He turned back to Grim and Aquarius. "He's... an old friend."
"what dose the raccoon look like?"

Rose slowly got up, her wings opening behind her. There were two more people in the church now, and it was getting rather crowded. Staying along the wall, she walked a little closer and overheard one complaining about hunger. Putting a hand into her pocket, she realized that her food had come with her. Approaching him, she hesitantly held out an apple.
"You..You can have this if you want."

Aquarius hesitantly stepped out from behind Grim and looked over at the angel beside him. Grim had frozen up the moment that Sevy had uttered his actual name, and had somehow managed to become even more pale. He stared nervously at Damascus - Aquarius was sure it was because he was worried that the angel would put the pieces together.

Aquarius doubted that was possible, since he wasn't a giant skeleton right now, but he decided to come to Grim's rescue just to be on the safe side. "Grim's actually his nickname," Aquarius quietly said, giving a shy smile. "His real name is Griffith."

He looked over at Sevy, desperately hoping that he didn't question why he was going by the alias instead of his actual name.

Grim awkwardly cleared his throat. "Uh, yeah," he agreed. "It's just a nickname. I got it because...because..."

"Because he used to be a pessimist when he was growing up," Aquarius wisely added.

"But it's been some time since I last saw Sevy, so I'm not as fond of the nickname as I was the last time we met. I'm trying to be more positive now," Grim concluded, taking in a large gulp of air when he finally finished speaking. He gave Damascus a large, unsteady smile.

Maahes turned when he heard the girl speak. She couldn't have been that old, possibly only a few years younger than how old Odris was supposed to be. It took him a moment to realize that she was offering him an apple. He was a little nervous about actually trying to eat something - eating had never gone well for him in the past - but he knew the stomach pains wouldn't go away unless he put something in there.

He took the apple of her hand. "Thank you," he said. He eyed the apple for a moment, then added, "I'm Maahes." Knowing that he really had to actually eat the fruit, he hesitantly raised it up to his mouth and took a very cautious bite out of it.

His eyes widened as the taste registered.

"This tastes incredible!" he exclaimed, looking down at the barely eaten apple in his hand. He had never particularly liked how juicy foods like apples could be because they mixed far easier with his essence, but it just tasted so refreshing when he had taste buds! He took a few more enthusiastic bites out of it, savoring every single moment of the experience. No wonder humans like to eat so much!

The room dropped another several degrees and the Silver Fox's hands went for his knives. Ice began to form underneath his feet - if this devolved, which it was probably going to, he'd be at a severe disadvantage. Unlike the angel-demon that knew how to work the ice, he'd have rather iffy footing. He'd fought on ice before many times over but all Cornyx had to do was shift forms and use his talons to keep himself from sliding.

"I have no idea vhere ve are, I don't ficking know vhat's going on!" he spat. "Vho ze Hölle ever heard of a vampire vith vings, huh? Look around! Z-"

Cornyx's arm shot out with the speed of a striking serpent and his fingers wrapped around the Fox's throat, throwing him to the ground and pinning him there. His draconian eyes had the look that a raptor's did when they were locking in on a kill.

Scheisse. This was going to get very bad, very quickly.

Melkyael seemed to have figured out which way was up and his gaze fell on Cornyx. The demon-angel's wings unfurled and he crouched before leaping into the air.

"I've got an idea. Vhat if you let me up, and zen ve t-" he started, only to soon find himself being thrown into the pews. The crack resounded through the church, though whether it was of the wood or his bones was unclear. Melkyael tucked in his wings as Cornyx threw the Silver Fox and slammed into him, knocking him full-force into the frozen ground.

James smiled in amusement as Maahes discovered the joys of having taste buds, but his smile immediately vanished when he saw the conflict across the room was escalating. As one of the angels was thrown into the pews, James's gaze shot towards the offending attacker. He locked his eyes on them and his upper lip curled up to further reveal his sharp teeth.

"Godsd*mmit, stop attacking people, will ya?" he projected across the room. His tail flicked in annoyance - something he'd only just become aware of. "We're all in the same boat. No one wants to be here. Everyone's been switched into bodies with wings or horns or whatever else the powers that be have decided to add on!" He began to stalk across the room, making his way to the man whose body was launched into the now broken pew. He extended a hand to help him up.

"I'll hope that someone who can conjure ice will know how to cool down," he muttered, looking up at the angry angel. "The name's James, by the way. Let's start with introductions before we throw any punches."

The Silver Fox coughed, spitting out blood as he took James' hand and pulled himself up. His arm was at an awkward angle at his side. "Danke, Herr James," he said, snapping his arm back into place in a seemingly nonchalant manner, though his countenance would've spoken volumes if his mask hadn't been covering it.

Melkyael landed and pivoted to face Cornyx who was quickly righting himself, draconic gaze falling on James. He glanced first at Melkyael, then the Silver Fox, and finally dipped his head and stepped back to signify his disengagement.

"Cornyx Blackthorne," Cornyx introduced himself shortly.

"Name's Melkyael," the demon-angel added.

Kratzer simply hooked a finger under his mask and pulled it off to reveal his scarred face. "I'd be terribly disappointed if you didn't remember me, brother."

James, though momentarily disturbed by the man's nonchalance in popping his arm back into place, found his mouth upturning into a smile when he saw the familiar face.

"Engel! Of course I remember you, brother."

Siren was very surprised, but naturally completely unfettered, by the experience of waking up in a strange place. Siren was the sort to explore strange things, and enjoy strange things, but not the sort to ever question how she got there.

There was a winged man with a hooked nose next to her on the pew, snoring blissfully. He wasn't questioning anything, either.

Siren forgot him, and marvelled over how her skin had changed colour, and her back fins were now heavy, and covered in feathers, but then she got distracted by an angry winged man throwing a masked winged man into a pew.

She was especially distracted because she had been sitting on that pew.

The man who had been snoring next to her had been knocked on top of her, and he was heavy. She shoved him off, brutally.

He rolled over, and pulled himself off the floor, looking very irritated.

"Oh Lord I'm so hungover..." he groaned, almost inaudibly.

"What did you do that for?" he complained, much more audibly.

Stan, ruler of Heck and all round good guy really was not ready to be thrust into a church. How he got here, he did not know. But, as he did for everything, he shrugged it off. He scratched at his goatee and noticed he was in a really nice white suit -- which was now kinda dirty from lying on the floor -- and that his socks were mismatched colours of bright red and a slightly more muted fuschia colour. With a sigh he stood up, the familiar weight of wings on his back. Although when he looked again, they were pure white. Interesting.
As he looked around, he noticed there were others about. Closest were two...angels. One who didn't look very happy and the other who looked confused.
Interesting.
As he ran a hand through his hair, he realised it was a lot less curly and tough to handle. Small victories, he supposed. Before he could open his mouth to ask the angels what was going on, a softer, more quiet voice spoke up.

"E-excuse me, w-where are we?"
He looked up to see a girl who could not be older than 17, with long pink hair that reached her lower back. She had black wings like they were carved from coal, her tail was thin and her horns shiny with a shimmer of red. She was dressed in a regal looking outfit, perhaps something out of the 18th century? She looked like a princess, in any case. A very nervous and shy princess, but a princess nonetheless.

Two possibilities exist: Either we are alone in the universe, or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.

He had been in the middle of eating the apple when the fighting broke out, and had been quietly trying not to choke over in the corner while James confronted the three. Now that the offending piece of apple had been dislodged and actually swallowed, he turned his attention away from the apple and over to his friend.

And the man that his friend was talking to.

The name didn't immediately register, but the voice did. A smile began to spread across his face as the apple was forgotten in his hand. "Kratzer!" he eagerly exclaimed, wings suddenly shooting out in his excitement. "I haven't seen you since the masquerade. It's me, Maahes."

xXx

Aquarius spun around when he heard the sound of someone getting thrown into one of the church pews, Grim following suit several seconds later. They watched with a mixture of horror and confusion as chaos unfolded all around them. It did seem like some of it had died down by the time the initial fight finally registered, but then another demon showed up.

Aquarius hadn't noticed him, at first. He had been hidden behind the altar up at the front of the room, and only now was emerging from behind it. It was the horns and tail that he noticed first, but the more terrifying aspect of the new demon's appearance was how he couldn't see any of the man's skin. He was dressed in a buttoned-up trench coat, long pants, and boots, with a fedora and sunglasses that covered his eyes.

But in the areas where that failed to cover him, the man was covered in bandages. Bandages that, like with the rest of his outfit, seemed to be covered in blood.

And he was quickly coming their way, black tail swishing behind him as he bridged the distance between the altar and the pews they were in.

Aquarius gulped and instinctively clung to the arm of the person next to him; that person happened to be Grim, though he did inch a little closer to Sevy as well.

"There's another person coming," he said, "and I don't think he's nice."

Kratzer grinned at Maahes, but there was something in that smile that told both James and Maahes that something was just a bit...off. Something he wasn't saying. Something that haunted him with such persistence that even in this moment of being reunited with his brother and his friend he couldn't shake it.

The smile immediately went away as the demon stepped out from behind the altar and Kratzer's handgun was in his fingers instantly, pointed at the ground but at the ready. There was a click as he switched the safety off.

Cornyx pivoted the moment he detected the oncoming demon and Melkyael readied his shield. Ice once more coated King Blackthorne's hands and frost danced about the floor under his feet.

Kratzer stepped forward, folding his wings tightly against his back. That feeling was so...bizarre. Uncanny. Slowly, the German approached the oncoming demon, tense and wary but not hostile in the least.

"Who are you and what is it you want? Are you another who was thrown here accidentally or are you what's behind this?" he asked, standing only a couple yards away from the bloodied demon.

Rose remained where she was, watching. Her day was going from bad to worse. Frowning a little while she thought, her wings fluttered and she ended up falling and hitting her head on a seat.

Poor Rose!

Her day was going from bad to worse.

Also, I feel like this is something most of our characters can agree with. :P

The demon turned his attention away from the four directly in front of him to the angel that had approached him. The tall demon let out a sigh of relief as he turned his head; he paid no attention to it. He was used to people fearing him when he dressed like this, though he would have expected that a demon would be less frightened by someone like him.

His head pounded as he looked the angel over. He absentmindedly raised a hand and rubbed the back of his head. He really shouldn't have underestimated how hard Claire could push him. His hand returned to his side, and he continued to watch the man from behind his bloodied sunglasses.

"Do I look like I know what was going on?" he scoffed, rolling his eyes. He was already preparing to sign an answer - hoping that the nice angel with the gun would know ASL - but the sassy comment couldn't hurt.

"Not really," a quiet voice piped up from nearby, following by a nervous, quickly drawn breath when he turned to see who had spoken. It was the tall demon.

He tried to convince himself that the two words had been in response to what someone else had said, but the church had fallen deathly silent when he had emerged from behind the altar. The demon could have only been talking to him.

"You-You can hear me?" he managed to get out. He should have played it off as the demon having heard him say something he never had spoken, but he was just too shocked to think that far ahead.

The demon nodded.

The angel with the green eyes and black hair furrowed his brow. "I can hear you, too," he said.

This sentiment was echoed by a nod from yet another angel.

His heart skipped a beat. He could be heard. It was startling, but, the more he thought about it, it began to make sense. He was surrounded by angels and demons. Surely they could understand-

He paused his train of thought, suddenly noticing something moving behind him. He very, very slowly glanced back to see what it was.

It was a tail.

A tail that apparently belonged to him. He watched in silence for a moment, hoping that this was some nightmare that his possibly concussed brain had concocted. But then he thought about moving his tail to his right. His tail did exactly did. He thought about moving it to the left. It did that, too.

"I-I have a tail," he managed to get out. "I have a tail. Holy sh-" His hat started to slip down as he now frantically glanced back at said tail, but it didn't end up falling off - it rested up against two things jutting out of his head.

He slowly raised a gloved hand up.

They were horns.

"I'm dreaming," he said. "That has to be it. I'm dreaming, and I've ended up like this because I was watching too many of Liz's horror movies." He went to go pinch himself to confirm this fact, but was met with the horrifying realization that he wasn't waking up.

"Fu-" he said, only to be cut off by a startled cry coming from his own mouth as he went stumbling back into the nearest pew.

Rose scrambled along the floor as a demon fell. Muttering curses, she felt something drip down on her face. Putting her hand up, she realized she had broken skin and was bleeding. She stood up. Going to the demon who had fallen, she offered him a hand.

Everything has to be taken on trust; truth is only that which is taken to be true. It's the currency of living. There may be nothing behind it, but it doesn't make any difference so long as it is honoured. One acts on assumptions. What do you assume?
