Damascus set down his chocolate and spit some vaguely brown saliva into his hand. He walked back over, and paused in front of Edward on the way.

"C'mon, Edward," He said, trying his best not to spook the boy with his enthusiasm. "Don't you want brothers and a sister? It's not promising anything but to always look out for each other." He smiled down at the younger boy. "And wherever you are in Prussia, wherever I am in... my world, we'll always have a brother or sister out there who cares. Doesn't that sound great?"

Edward winced at the sight of the chocolate-y spit, but reluctantly spit into his own hand and held it out. "I still don't think we're in Prussia," he said. "We-We should have been in New York City."

Schadel's face lit up from beside him. "I was in New York City, too!"

"And Engel was from Prussia, too, and you still thought I was making it up." said Boris conceitedly, as he held his freshly spit covered hand out into the circle.

Damascus frowned in response to the little dispute over what the Lamd of the Living was called. He was deeply perplexed- it wouldn't seem like something as universal as that would have so many opinions concerning it. Of course, he couldn't be sure which was the actual name, but New York was harder for him to remember.

"I'll just call this world Prussia." He shrugged and waved his hand a bit. Though he was still equal amounts exited, the saliva was growing cold on his palm, and he was eager for them to be sworn already. "Okay, how will we do this? A big group hand embrace?"

"But the world isn't called Prussia. It's called Earth-"

Schadel rested her hand on Edward's shoulder. "I think we're just going to have to let this one go," she sorrowfully told him. Still keeping her hand on his shoulder, she turned back to Damascus and the dilemma at hand. "I think that sounds good to me!"

"Yes," James agreed, eager to get the spitty handshake overwith. He held his hand out in the middle of them all with his palm up. "Everybody in."

Damascus brightened and put his hand on top of James', gripping the other boy's hand tight.

Schadel put hers on top of Damascus, and Edward quickly followed suit moments later - grateful that he didn't have to touch the side of Schadel's hand that had all the chocolate-y spit on it.

Boris joined in, hand over Schadel's hand, and looked over at Engel expectantly.

Engel spit on his palm and put his on top. "Siblings forever!" he grinned.

The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost."

Damascus let out a soft giggle and pumped his hand from where it was sandwhiched between the others. Glancing around, his cheeks rosy from all the smiling, he slid his hand back out and wiped it on his toga.

Stepping back toward the outskirts of the group, he suddenly got very fidgety, and he wrung his hands as he was made aware of an uncomfortable pressure. It took him a lot of frowning and thinking before he finally guessed at what the matter was.

Oh! He just had to empty his bladder, that was all. Awkwardly, he stumbled his way out of the campsite and into the trees, wincing as he stepped on pokey things.

He had never had to release himself in a human body before... but it couldn't be that hard, could it?

James eagerly pulled his hand from the slobbery mess and wiped his hand copiously on his shirt. He couldn't hide the mild look of disgust on his face as he did so.

Schadel frowned. "Where's Damascus going?" she questioned, also wiping the spit off of her hand and onto her shirt. She started to head towards the forest to figure out what was going on, but Edward reached out and grabbed onto her wrist.

"He's going to the bathroom," Edward said. "I don't think you want to see that."

Schadel turned around. "How'd you know that?"

"He got all fidgety," he answered. "And my mom says that the trees are the best to pee if you don't have a toilet."

"What's a toilet?" James asked. "Is that another name for outhouse?"

Edward nodded. "Yeah, except that it runs on electricity and has pipes."
