"Uhm...truth," Kratzer said. When he was sober, he was going to regret this.
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
"Well! Does anyone have a question for Kratzer?" Wilson asked, looking to the others. It wasn't like she had any reason to ask anything, so she opened it up for them. She kind of already knew everything she would've wanted to ask after looking into his entire past.
Damascus raised his hand immediately. He still didn't completely understand the concept of this game, but was very eager to be involved. Especially since he hadn't spoken to the blond man at all that night.
"I HAFF ONE!" He shouted loudly. With a glance around, he realized that no one else was clambering to ask a question. He cleared his throat and stared at Kratzer, blurring the first thing that came to mind.
"Whysh yeh face liek that?" He deadpanned, oblivious to how rude it came off. "thuh... thuh scratch-y thing." He gestured to his own face, referring to the large scar across the bridge of Kratzer's nose.
"Mah father hit meh 'cross teh fass w' a bothle," he replied, too drunk to remember it well enough to have any kind of strong emotional response.
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
Wilson blinked as the opposite of hilarity ensued. She cleared her throat. "OOoOOOoookay, well! Good job Kratzer, love the honesty. Okay, so that means uh... James! You're next! Since you're all not exactly in the circle and Kratzer's at the end of the line we'll just go to the other end! So James, what do you choose? Truth or dare?"
James stared at Wilson, gaze flickering over to Kratzer. Kratzer had been asked a very personal question. He didn't want that.
"Dare," he answered confidently.
Wilson beamed.
"Okay!" she said with a clap of her hands. "Any of ya'll wanna dare him to do something? Can be anything as long as it doesn't hurt anyone!"
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
Damascus gave a look like a dear caught in the headlights when he heard his name called. He blanked for a moment before thinking it over- dare seemed interesting, and he still didn't know exactly what it entitled, since apparently James' dare was not a real one.
"Urhh... dehre." He gave a wide smile and glanced around at the others, equal parts exited and terrified.
Damascus still had a goofy smile plastered on his face as he blinked, trying to remember what a serenade was. It was... wooing somebody... with a song? Well, he could do that. He turned to his left, where Boris was sitting, and called to mind the last remotely romantic song he had heard- which happened to be from a Disney movie.
"Iiiii knehwwww yewwww..." he picked up into song, his deep voice swooning and careening off tune. Impulsively, he stroked Boris' hair and brought his hand down to rest on his cheek, "I whalk wiffth yeh onsheeee ehponnn a dreammmm..."
No matter how accustomed I became to human touch, I never tired of the feeling of welcome vulnerability that it brought. I found myself blushing, which was mainly the fault of the gin, but I could not have denied with confidence the possibility of other factors.
Damascus' drunken wailing was only vaguely bearable, and it had been done on a dare, but I was still touched nonetheless.

Damascus continued singing until he forgot the words. He stopped and smiled at Boris' expression. Bringing his hand down, he leaned closer, his eyes full of playful seriousness.
"Do yeh feel sherinaded...?" He tried to whisper, still being slightly louder than needed.
Kratzer snorted in laughter. "Zis game is ridiculoush," he slurred.
