Poem 13

Spoiler
Don’t Mistake
Don't mistake my kindness
For meekness
Don’t mistake my sweetness
For weakness
I've got a fire inside
That's not likely to die

Poem 14

Spoiler
Humanity
We lend out our humanity
Let other creatures and objects
Borrow it for a time
We give them thoughts and ideas
And hopes and wishes
We lend out our humanity
Because we are lonely
And we wish to not be so
But the creatures and objects
They can never bear our humanity
Not long enough to satisfy
And all too soon
We are once again left alone

Spoiler
The Past
Our past stays with us
It follows us like a shadow
No matter how we try
To ignore or loose it
Our past is always right there
Waiting and watching
For the moment when it reminds you
It has never left

Poem 16

Spoiler
Beyond A Reasonable Doubt
No proof without evidence
Tell me you love me all you want
Feed me sweet nothings
And lull me to sleep on soft words
But it makes no difference
There is no proof without evidence
Prove that you love me
Beyond all reasonable doubt
Give me all the evidence I can handle
Show me that you adore me with all of you
In ways both big and small
Do the dishes on nights I can’t move
Buy me a dozen roses on anniversaries
Or even because you loved my smile today
Prove that you love me every day
So that my suspicious mind
Has no evidence to the contrary

Poem 17

Spoiler
Snapshots
Snapshots are all I have left
Moments frozen forever in time
Jokes I can never return to
Laughter I can never recapture
Tears I will never again shed
Only memories kept close
And brought out when I need them
Till they're worn around the edges
And the memories start to fade

Poem 18

Spoiler
Celestial
She gathers the stars
And uses them as decoration in her hair
Making her tresses glitter and sparkle

She collects the sunlight
And weaves it into her clothes
Making her resplendent in the dark

She compiles the comets
And adds a twinkle in her eyes
Making her expressions livelier

She assembles the planets
And strings them together
Making her jewelry to keep them close

She is light and life
And I can help but be drawn to her
This celestial girl

#18 paints such a beautiful, glittering picture! I love the imagery of the celestial girl, drawing together an outfit from the skies!
