Yes definitely participating! The YWS Olympics rock. Most excited for all of the events and reading what people come up with! I loved reading through the six-word stories last year, so that's one event I'm really looking forward to.

Of course I am! I hope to participate in all of the events this year since in 2016, I didn't do all of the events. That's my main goal, but we'll see what happens. I'm also excited to represent my team, the Jamaican Bobsleds--let's go team!
It’s an event we have on YWS that coincides with the actual Olympics. Events are held that are centered around writing and community based activities. Next one should be 2020

I saw this thread got a post and was super excited for a moment because I thought they were coming up, but sadly only occur when the real olympics occur - so I think won't happen until next year?
But they're great! Absolutely one of my favorite YWS activities.
Basically it's two weeks of writing events hosted by the mods that anyone can participate in. For each event people can win Gold, Silver, or Bronze -> and those correspond to points -> whoever has the most points at the end of the event wins the Olympics. Last year @Mea and myself tied for the Gold victory.
Some people also choose to participate in teams and then those teams are judged the same ways.
The contests are either directly tied to writing (like poetry, short story, or prompt contests) or they are tied to the site (like a review contest, or the beloved Scavenger hunt hosted by @Rydia and @Meshugenah every Olympics that is SUPER difficult).
Basically it's just two weeks filled with friendly YWS competition.
