This is a really cool thing I found about yesterday that was a thing during the war. I have no idea how they were able to keep the place open if they weren't making money, but that's beside the point. The generosity of rich stars, I guess?
This is also the podcast I was listening to last night that was originally describing it, if you guys are interested. The first few minutes do a good job setting the atmosphere of early 40s Los Angeles, too.
I have most of my post together and I spent a bit of time last night researching minor actresses of the 30s and 40s, that I could mention as connections.
I'll begin working on Gabe's first entry after @LadyLizz pops her post up! I have some ideas, but most of them are just to set the scene for the kind of life he enjoys--with a little Humphrey-Bogart-Staring-At-Police-Friend-Across-The-Room unease at the lounge.
@Elinor, would you say that Vitophone is still operating off the Blockbuster success of its previous films? And what sort of project will Gabe and...gosh, I forgot her name--be working on once the other two leave to be Rally Gals in their own arc, unless they're traveling back and forth?

Re: Finances, definitely. But it's definitely something that's finite, which is why Vitophone needs a hit.
Here's what I'm thinking. Evelyn (@TheBlueCat) and Ann will be going. I doubt it will be *too* long of an arc, probably a post or two. But by the time we get back it will have been a few months. Because Andrew wants to get Saturday Evening right, he'll delay it until we get back.
You, plus @LadyLizz and @Steggy can do your part by volunteering at the Hollywood Canteen in the interim, which Andrew will make you do. I think he's also going to throw the three of you in a fluffy love triangle romantic comedy that won't be great but it'll be made quickly (by the time we get back), and it will pretty much be a financial success.
And the police might show up, too, either while we're gone or just after we get back. I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to create a pair of detective characters or keep them anonymous, but in the meantime, we don't have to worry about them. The country has bigger things on its mind with the war.
