November Contest

For every month for a year, I will do a month-themed contest.

This month, it will be a contest based on Thanksgiving - duh - but with a few twists.

1. You must include a talking turkey as a character named "poulet." (That's "chicken" in French)

2. You must have someone dying - it could be the turkey!

3. It must have the word "queue" and "bashment" in the story.

4. You will earn extra points if you put a supernatural element.

It must be a short story or a poem and there must be a review reserved for me and two other judges. Post it in this thread once you're finished INSIDE OF A SPOILER!

The winner will receive 500 points. The second and third place winner will receive a gift. The fourth and fifth will receive nothing. If you put a supernatural element, you will get 50 points.

If you are a judge, I will give you 100 points for participating.

My only rule is no romantic scenes and no non-fiction unless it is necessary for the story (like, you need to get facts right). Swearing, violence, and all of that is allowed if you break the rules, however, you will be disqualified, no warning.

I'm not going to be participating in the contest (I'll be too busy with NaNo!) but I'm just curious- how are you expecting people to reserve their work for only the three judges to review, and why? Do you want people to post it in this thread, instead of through the traditional YWS publishing centre? If so, that would make more sense. If people post their work via the publishing centre, they won't be able to stop people from reviewing their works.
