Hi everyone! No one has posted for this storybook for awhile, so I thought I would try to bring it back to life by asking who wants to go next! ^_^ Who wants to write the next post?
I wouldn't mind writing the next post. So since Kit's newly-summoned and doesn't know about the Math Club, shall he just wander around and tag after Sophie? Is there any preferred method of him becoming aware of the math club?
Pretty much! I feel like he would become aware if Sophie was aware of the club, or would stumble upon it by accident if she's not. Either one of those ways would be fine with me! ^_^
Posted! Hopefully it's okay. If there's anything I need to change, just say. I kind of assumed that they are able to remember former lives, but if not then that's cool too. I assumed a lot of things in that post, actually xD
Jonathon Stroud never gives that much information in the book series as to how you summon a spirit for the first time; the only information I've found is on an old post in the Bartiforums where he answered someone's question. He says that spirits are summoned by a magician giving a chunk of the Other Place a name and therefore separating it from the chaos.
But we can definitely have some creative liberty when it comes to the creation of spirits! I love the idea of past lives and things like that; I saw a fanfiction once where Bartimaeus was a human that became a djinni, and an old fanfiction I wrote had a human become a marid after a series of experiments. So, basically, we can go with the idea that spirits have various methods of being created! I'll stick with Puck being created the way Stroud described because it's easier for me. Puck's more than 2,000 years old - I have a lot of history to account for already.
I'd like to welcome @Desdemona to the storybook! ^_^ Also, I'm about to have some fun making a cast list on the first post, based after the style of "The Main Characters", the list of characters in the trilogy's prequel The Ring of Solomon. Expect to see that in the very near future! ^_^
The cast list is up! Characters that aren't a part of the club just yet are listed as neutral, but will be added once they join. Also, if anyone happens to traitor, I'll move them to the enemy magicians list. ^_^
