hi, does anyone know whether our work is protected on this site? or is it liable to be taken if we don't protect it?

okay i realise i've asked the same question twice and thank you Meshugenah for answering it. i will try much harder next time to read the whole thread and not just adding stuff willy nilly.

do the BB codes work in the biography section on your profile?

because i tried to use them and nothing happened...it just showed up as text in one big paragraph along with what i had written

I have this story that I divided into three parts. It's 8848 words long. Obviously a short story. My question is, should I post it all at once? Or should I post it one part at a time?
Part 1: 3217 words
Part 2: 4564 words
Part 3: 993 words

How should I post this?

Hey Dreamer!

It's really up to you, but I'd post it in parts. People are more likely to look at a shorter piece than a longer one, and they'll have more patience and will critique it a little better than if you post the entire thing at once. Just make sure you're doing your part to critique other stories as well! That will also increase your chances of having your story reviewed.

I'm having a problem. If I have a story title that starts with the word "the", the "the" won't show up in the title. Help?

The "the" won't show up in the title? That is really odd.... Try PMing one of the admins, sounds like their kind of problem? I've never heard of that happening before.

The admin are the people in red. Hope you get your problem fixed.

i see portfolio's and that but i dont understand where mine is do i just post work in some forum or what? :S help!

Post in the literary forums as new posts. It should automatically show up in your portfolio.

I think that's a bug in the system. Fanfiction and Historical fiction weren't showing up in potrfolios, but I'm pretty sure Historical fiction works, now. I'll go check on fanfic (and if it doesn't work, on to Nate!). But don't worry, your work is stil there!
