Hi, I'm a super new member. (I joined yesterday). I've been writing reviews of other people's work and I want to post some of my own stuff soon. I have a story that is thirty pages long. I wrote it as a short story, so it isn't divided into chapters like a novel. Short stories other people posted are a lot shorter. What category should I post my story under?

I also read that you have to have 100 points to post some of your own work. If I do get points by writing reviews, how do I know how many points I have?

Thanks!

Hi figure! At the moment the points system isn't in place and when it goes back up in a little while, you'll get enough freebies to still make a post or two.

As for where it should go, you've got a couple of options. I'd suggest putting it in short stories isn't a good idea as most people browsing there are looking for a quick read and anything too long gets overlooked. Your options then are either to split it into sections and post it in the novels forum, or you could try out The Novel Workshop. That's where you can post a full novel or a lengthy short story all in one go. It takes longer to get reviews there and you don't tend to get many but those you do get are much more thorough so it depends on what you're looking for.

Hey, Hunger! ^.^

Changing your profile picture is easy. Just follow these steps:

1. Click on your 'Dashboard' at the top of the page. (It's next to your name)

2. On the Dashboard page, click the 'Profile' tab.

3. On the left of the page, there should be an 'Edit Avatar' option.

4. Click it and you'll reach the page where you can change your avatar.

One thing to note though. Right now, YWS doesn't accept images that are beyond 100x100 pixels. So if you want to upload a picture, you have to first change its size. To do that, just paste a link to the image you want on this thread and I will be glad to reply to your post by providing you with the correct size.

Best of luck! :)

Hey thank you. What are PMs. Where can I find them. I am in a story book and my friend sent me a message saying I missed important PMs. I am so lost

That stands for private messages. If you look up at the top, next to where your user-name and 'dashboard' is then it will say x new messages in brackets. Simply click that and it will take you to your inbox.

There's currently no way to delete comments. Hang in there, though! You'll be able to delete your own comments in the future, once the site is finally complete.

When I was trying to add work for the first time, it wouldn't let me paste my work into the body box. Does this mean I have to actually type it into the box or is there a way of pasting it in? Thanks.
Please have a look at my website: www.firepen.webs.com!
