You should join us, Aquamarine! I did it last year, and it was most enjoyable. I only got 18,150 words down, but it was still more than I'd gotten since then. And the RPs are addictive if you get with the right people.

I have joined! I decided to. I don't have a storyline yet ( I ditched the one I was thinking about when I signed up.) All I have to go on is a random opening I found on my laptop, so I'm going from there.
If anyone wants to add me on it then I'm AquaMarine27. They already had an AquaMarine :(

I don't know about you guys, but I have been plotting and I'm excited. :)

Also, if anyone wants to add me I'm Autumn Dreamer (apparently I was feeling creative that day. I kind of wish I stuck with something like my YWS username. Oh well. Don't get confused.)
Got YWS?

I am doing it. Started planning and at chapter 15, and need to start working on it again(haven't in almost a week.)

If anyone wants to add me, my user name is Bolt.

Gah... Well, I was ready, then I started having doubts about my idea and now I'm sort of back to not knowing what I am doing. Bleh.

By the way, I'm GryphonFledgling on the NaNo site as well if anyone wishes to look me up.

Basically I'm having the same problem... I like my idea, but it isn't going to be long enough for 50k, I'm pretty sure.

I might have to switch ideas.

If anyone wants to add me, (and please do, I like having friends) my username is the same as on here.

Good Luck all!

I'm not sure. I tried last year - or was it the year before that? - and messed it up, but then, novels really aren't my thing. One of my friends is bugging me to do it with him, though, and I'm not sure whether to give it a go again or stick with improving my short stories. How do you guys get it in with homework and all that, too? I'm a bit paranoid that I'll start forgetting things.

I'm a little worried about that too. I have my first GCSE exam in November (it's biology as well. Fail!) but I still really want to try this out. If it goes wrong and I fall behind then hey, these things happen! If I don't then it's awesome!

Yeah, I'm at the beginning of the GCSE year, and I have 30% of my Drama GCSE in early December. Just a little worried. Any veterans got some advice? ;)

Ah, Time. I've got too much of it actually: two days a week with 5 hours on the computer each day. If I don't own NaNo with time like that, I will be utterly ashamed of myself.

Words of wisdom(?) from my NaNo last year:

Read "No Plot? No Problem!" by Chris Baty (the founder of NaNo). It's funny as all get out and actually helpful at times when trying to figure out just how to fit NaNo in.

Carry a notebook all the time. Write every time you have free time. (I wrote in class sometimes... But I don't necessarialy recommend that.)

Do your homework first. Seriously, as much as you want to get that novel done, you can always stay up late and whatnot to do it, while that is a bad strategy for teh homeworkz. And your future doesn't depend on getting this novel done, while it might depend on your grades.

Write or Die. Give it a try. I know a lot of people who love it and a lot of people who hate it, so you just have to see what's best for you. I personally love it and it saved my word count on some days. Thousands of words in tens of minutes is always fun.

Yay for NaNoWriMo '09!

I've been thinking of signing up, but I'm kind of new in this. It just sounds scary to write so much in just a month when I only write 1000 words in one day if I have an inspiration attack! :)

By the way, I have a question about NaNoWriMo. Do you have to pay to participate?

No, Mell, it's all free. I know what you mean too, about not being able to write enough in one day. I'm just the same. That's why I'm going to skip NaNo this year ad take all the time I need to plan what I want to happen. :) But don't listen to me. I'm a procrastinator. :)
