I altered the teacher's name, for safety's sake.
A raven's flight, in darker times,
Prompted all new omens and signs
Prophets groaned and preachers wailed
In 'protecting the people' they would not fail!
In present times, the ebony flitter
Inspires in our hearts a flutter and twitter
He's not an omen, but a sweet lullaby
For he has come to eat Mr. Bobby's eyes
Then his ears, for without them, he
Cannot hear the cacaphony
The voices of those who want him dead
(All that are left are the ones in his head)
His voice box next, for without it, he
Cannot rave or drone at me
While I sleep, snug in my chair
With the peppermints that were my share
Ah, Mr. Bobby, I knew him well!
His distinct repeating of his bell!
And now he lies, cold underground,
Raving to whatever maggots can be found
