Lumi wrote:I very rarely say this, so remember that it happened on this date.
Avalon wrote:So @CowLogic want to add peodophile to David's long list of Sins?

I'm uncomfortable with this.

Second rarity of the day: I'm legitimately surprised. I would expect Biscuts or Aria to say No. But Lumi? Yeah I'm surprised.

Since when is Aria made uncomfortable by anything SB or writing related? xD

Why exactly are you uncomfortable with this? (given that you were ok with the incest)

I was already approached by Elinor with this request. I really don't want David to be a pedo. At least, not yet.

(I know, I get it, David's so attractive that all the little girls like him. He's just out of their league.)

To be fair the incest was consensual, while pedophilia isn't

Okay, I never suggested that it actually happen or that he would even try to act on it, but that he could start to have those kind of thoughts as a marker of his growing instability. (a la American Beauty)

But if it makes people uncomfortable, then it can easily be canned. I'm sorry if I upset anyone.

If I'm the only one uncomfortable, I can deal with it. =P But Elves pretty much tapped my reasons on the head.

Conceptually, pedophilia is not consensual. It has predatory connotations, and honestly, in this context it just feels like it's being lumped onto a character so people can sit back and say "Oh look how dark and dramatic that storybook is. Let's admire the writers for their love of excess."

I could write an essay on it, but to be frank, my reasons for being uncomfortable are personal. I'm not forbidding it or damning it, but yeah. Biscuits asked for an explanation that I shouldn't have to give.

Gotcha, that makes sense.

If it makes you uncomfortable then then I don't feel comfortable.

@Lumi I only wanted to understand. I think your explanation makes perfect sense. I was curious because there could have been several reasons. Sorry if I upset you or anything. :/

Quick note that a) Alvie is right, there might be a few things I'd be uncomfortable with, but I doubt anyone would think of suggesting those anyway, and b) if someone says they're uncomfortable with a thing, then we don't do the thing, unless they decide it's okay to a degree (like with the incest in this case).

Speaking of David, I think Jason would actually try to reconnect somewhat, but he trusts Gabe and Gabe hates David, so that won't work so well unless David tries too >.>

Yay. :3

@AriaAdams

How quickly to do we move/what all do we want to happen this weekend? I still going to have Myra leave the house, I think, and run into Jason somehow.

Also, she'll definitely have ballet on Saturday, and I was thinking she could get a larger part in the big christmas show (whatever that happens to be) which has all sorts of possibilities for the tension that it could create (as well as Jason being able to watch her). I kind of want to bring her friend from ballet in somehow, who Marty and Lyle (@Lumi , @Omniclysm) could see as a bad influence.

They could even make her quit ballet, thinking it's too much for her to handle, which would drive Myra insane.
