Question though: Why would the scientists let them out?

Also: Does each prisoner have a specific cell to contain them?

The scientist let the out to see how far they have improved skill wise and power wise.
And yes each prisoner will have their own cell.

Do the characters themselves know their super power? I really like this idea!

No the characters do not know their powers but some will figure it out as time progresses.

How the hell are we suppose to look forward to the future if we aren't sure if we will be alive in the next 20 seconds?

I have a suggestion. I think that we should have cells together, some with opposite sex and some with same. The scientists want to see how they react to opposing personalities and if it's different between same sex and different sex. Just an Idea
