NPC Matty isn't slightly friendly but best friends with Amber and I'll also have her love interest be Christopher Mark (Ravenclaw)

Kristof has two guy best friends: Maddox Turner and Osric (Rick) Steinway, the latter of German origin (like Kris). Maddox is actually a seventh year Gryffindor, and Osric is a sixth year Slytherin.

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't NPC stand for non-player character. That would mean the characters would have no one controlling them?

That's correct, Katya. It's means that anyone in the story book can control them (like your character), but there is not a specific player designated to him or her, unlike your character.
