@BlackNether12 okay... I've been trying to find out what to say to this.
First off, I asked you guys to wait if you had any questions on your profile until I put mine up. So, please, put your profile back to the way I had it in the beginning, and if you have any other questions other than the ones I'm going to answer, feel free to ask!
Secondly, the nuances is your personality (which was in the parenthesis underneath it.), sorry if that wasn't clear. Also, sorry for some of the missing closed parenthesis, because my keyboard sucks like that. That will be fixed ASAP!
Thirdly, I would ask you to not edit the profile that I carefully laid out for a reason without my permission. You didn't put in things that were there for a reason, and it is in my power as the creator of this storybook to keep things and plotlines away from the knowledge of the participants in the storybook. If you look at rule #3 of this storybook, it's meant to be comedic, but the effect is still there. I'm the creator of this storybook, and there's obviously things that I don't tell people, for the sake of plot twists.
I only said "I have my reasons" so people would be reassured by any questions they might have had. I will not give you the reasons if I don't think I should. Just trust me in that there is a cool reason why the character template is like that.
Okay, before I put up my post (sorry for triple posting btw) I wanted to say that this is set in 2035, so the military will be more advanced that what it is now.
Sarah Palmer
Age: 29
Gender: Female
Power: Concrete
Physical Description:
Average height. Jet-black hair that goes to shoulder length. Wearing a brown jacket and leather pants.
Nuances:
Sarah has a stubborn personality and her voice is quite loud whenever she gets angry, making her a prime target. She is the daughter of the chief of police and is considered highly dangerous in her illegal knowledge of military tactics and procedures.
Personal Background:
Five years ago, Sarah moved from being just the chief of police's daughter to being a prominent figure in Atlanta, where she pushed the vote to centralize the city's power and help engineer the first solar net in Atlanta. Ever since then, she has pioneered the assimilation of the power in Atlanta. This Harbinger knows the layout of the city more than most, and will most definitely use it to her advantage. She is considered a liability to the nation, and all actions used against her will reflect the fact.

Spoiler
Other:She is often thought of as the leader the False Enforcers. No one really knows if she is, but she is at least an important figure in there.
Situations:
It’s dark in Atlanta during the war, and a dog scares you by jumping in your way. How would you react? Would you let that dog live? Would you feed it or leave it be?
I would let it live, but I would not feed it. Feeding an animal will make it come back, and that leads you free for someone to track you down through the dog.
Your friend is stuck underneath a large piece of metal, and you face a decision, either go out of your schedule to spend hours trying to help this person, or end their suffering. What would you do?
I would end their suffering. It's a harsh world that we live in, and I'll know that they're in a better place than where we are.
There’s a small child that has been injured by your power. Do you try to help this child recover and take care of them or do you end their life, saving them from permanent scarring, both physically and emotionally?
If the child wants to live, I will try my hardest to let them. If they want not to suffer anymore, it's up to me to see that through. The decisions are hard, but someone has to make them.
And finally, the world has turned its back on you. It hates you. You’ll never belong anywhere. People call you a coward and a witch, and if they could, you would be dead or thrown in the deepest, darkest place they could find. But, there is hope in where there seems to be none. This could all be amended, yes it would be a long and grudging process, but it all starts with one decision: Are you willing to forgive humanity’s ignorance in a desperate time of your life, or will you turn your back to the fools who turned their backs to you when you needed it the most?
The world is blind, but it need to know the truth. There's people out there who are different, and humanity despises them because they are different. But, that can be different. Humanity can learn to live with being different. That's normal, get used to it.
You do realise there's a character section specifically for the profiles on the right-hand-side of the main post?
Speaking of characters and profiles. Much as I'd love to stay in, I'm going to have to drop out. Too many SBs, and too little time to work on my novel. x.x You know, the one I'm getting published?
"With friends like you, who needs a medical license?" - Paimon, Aether's Heart
“It's easier to ask forgiveness than it is to get permission.” - Grace Hopper.
Quite small. Not as weak as she looks. Brown eyes and short hair with highlights. Clear asiatic descendance. A lot of small scars on her hands and wrists, a long one on her left temple. Behind her right ear she has a small tattoo.
Nuances:
Dirix presents a cold exterior, not getting close to anyone inside the Perimeter. She seems either angry and distant or flippant when you talk to her, and doesn't take kindly to anyone invading her personal space. Basically prickly. Though she has left home, she still seems extremely attached to her brother. She will do absolutely anything to get her brother, a secured Harbringer, back from the military.
Personal Background:
Born and raised in Atlanta, Dirix was raised by a single mother until the age of 9. Her mother then married, and 3 years later, had a boy who she called Samuel. Valkyrie became extremely attactched to the young boy, taking care of him often, even after she left home to study History at Georgia State. Not much changed until the two siblings became Harbringers, and were confined to the Perimeter. The male Harbringer has been captured and is no longer a threat.

Other: When she first introduces herself to someone, she calls herself Dirix. Until she trusts them, she won't actually tell them her name. She smokes The rest of her personality (I didn't put it up there cause most people won't see this side of her): However, far down underneath, she's a sweet, caring person, who is extremely hurt inside by everything that is going on and the pain she's inflicting to survive. She is extremely stubborn, and will do a lot for those she cares for. Her tattoo:
Situations: It’s dark in Atlanta during the war, and a dog scares you by jumping in your way. How would you react? Would you let that dog live? Would you feed it or leave it be?
I'd kick it, from surprise, probably. I wouldn't feed it, that's for sure. If someone has enough food to feed a dog in these times, then let them feed it.
Your friend is stuck underneath a large piece of metal, and you face a decision, either go out of your schedule to spend hours trying to help this person, or end their suffering. What would you do?
I'd end their suffering. I don't need to be weighed down by an injured person. They'd probably be killed by someone other than me pretty quickly anyway.
There’s a small child that has been injured by your power. Do you try to help this child recover and take care of them or do you end their life, saving them from permanent scarring, both physically and emotionally?
A child... I'd bring them with me and try and help them. Children don't deserve to be on this side of the Perimeter, even if they're one of us.
Hope? You have to be kidding me. They're shooting us or capturing us to do God knows what to our bodies! The people outside the perimeter aren't better! They could do something, the military isn't omnipotent! They don't even care what age we are. If they can't accept us now, then they won't ever accept us.
@Aquestioning, just tell me if I should change anything! ^^

I wanted all to sparkle and dance in a glorious jubilee. - Cathy, Wuthering Heights
Physical Description: Average height with a sturdy build. His hair is dark and messy, mostly uncombed, and he has stubble on his jaw and upper neck. His eyebrows are dark and expressive and his eyes are a pale green, often appearing bored or skeptical. His nose is slightly large and pinched. His apparel is pretty casual like in the picture above, and he wears one of those leather jackets with a second smaller jacket sewed inside of it.
Nuances: He's kind of a lazy jerk. He likes to avoid trouble and hassle and prefers to be left with his own devices. Saying that, he gets bored easily. Most of the time he is bored. So he likes to kind of follow other people at a long distance (preferably on a rooftop) to entertain himself. At the hint of trouble however he's out, and living inside of the walls there is plenty of trouble to be had, so he never ends up following one person for long. He often steals his food and doesn't feel particularly bad about it.
He's secretly sociable and wishes he doesn't have to follow people around for entertainment. People wear on him surprisingly easily, and though he'd act like it's an inconvenience he'd grow attached to them after a while. So to avoid that he avoids people in general. But that's deep down. Like way down there. Please don't portray him this way out first because like I said, it's way down there.
Personal Background: He is a born Atlantian. His mother used to get her groceries from Trader Joe's like all the time. He was an only son and lived in northern Atlanta with his parents for most of his childhood, then his parents hit a snag in their funds. His father was fired over something stupid and his mother's paycheck wasn't enough for them to keep their house so they moved to downtown Atlanta, which wasn't the nicest place to live. They had to have bars on their windows and doors, and Sam couldn't go outside after dark and most of their valuables were hidden just in case someone managed to look inside. It wasn't that bad, he swears. He got used to it, made new friends, learned to block out the noise of the street when he slept. When he was old enough he took up a job as a cook at The Vortex, a popular burger joint that he could drive to.

Situations:
It’s dark in Atlanta during the war, and a dog scares you by jumping in your way. How would you react? Would you let that dog live? Would you feed it or leave it be? I'd leave it alone. I don't have time to feed it and I'd feel obligated to feed it again if I saw it again. And it would be a waste of my time to kill a dog for no reason.
Your friend is stuck underneath a large piece of metal, and you face a decision, either go out of your schedule to spend hours trying to help this person, or end their suffering. What would you do? It matters how long we've known each other. If we had only known each other for a day or two, then I'm not going to waste my strength on them. If I knew them longer than I'd probably would have tried to help, but left them in the end. The metal probably made noise when it fell, and someone could have heard.
There’s a small child that has been injured by your power. Do you try to help this child recover and take care of them or do you end their life, saving them from permanent scarring, both physically and emotionally? I would carry the child to a place where someone else would find him or her. That way, the child's fate is out of my hands and I neither have to kill the child or try to help the child heal. I don't know enough to help the child any other way anyways.
And finally, the world has turned its back on you. It hates you. You’ll never belong anywhere. People call you a coward and a witch, and if they could, you would be dead or thrown in the deepest, darkest place they could find. But, there is hope in where there seems to be none. They don't want me? Fine. I don't want to see their ugly faces either. It's not my fault that I'm like this way. If they try to shoot me, I'll gladly shoot back.
Is this good @Aquestioning?
"we'll fasten it with some safety pins and tape and a dream, and you're good to go, honey."
Well, @BlackNether12, I shouldn't say I'm surprised. What you had there wasn't constructive criticism, it was destructive and rude. I'm being bossy because it is within my rights as the leader of the storybook to do so. I feel like I'm being perfectly fair with you guys, explaining what I can without ruining surprises that I have in store for my participants. If you can't deal with that, then, be my guest. There's nothing keeping you here.
Just know that if you ever want to come back, you will be welcome with open arms.
Tall and lanky; lacking any major muscles or tough physique. Frequently able to see bones against his skin--not because he doesn't eat, because he eats like a monster - you wouldn't believe--but because he just can't put on weight at all.
Nuances:
Scott is not a fighter. Anything to keep himself out of danger is A+ in his book. He loves video games and general nerd culture, though there isn't much left of it that he can access. He's incredibly smart and witty, and probably would serve as a good tactician if anyone would ever take him seriously. Otherwise, he just blends in with the furniture.
Personal Background:
Scott was expelled from Georgia State University for hacking into the school's intranet to change his grades. He was found out only because he botched a line of code that left a small signature on the damaged codex of the school's database. After his expulsion, he was hired by a private sector company as an Intel Officer. After a few years of working for his company, there isn't much Scott doesn't know or can't figure out about his city and the shady things going down.

Other: He doesn't prefer the ladies.
Situations: It’s dark in Atlanta during the war, and a dog scares you by jumping in your way. How would you react? Would you let that dog live? Would you feed it or leave it be? My response relies entirely on the quantity and quality of my rations. If what I may give the dog in order to appease him amounts to one tenth or less of my rations, then I will feed him. There is a chance that he will become a companion--and though it's likely he'll die within our story, a companion is a good thing to have, tactically speaking.
Your friend is stuck underneath a large piece of metal, and you face a decision, either go out of your schedule to spend hours trying to help this person, or end their suffering. What would you do? This response depends on two factors, and I will explain them to you as briefly as possible, given that I'm wasting time explaining while this person is suffering. Firstly, the individual's audible wishes matter. If they ask to be rescued, then they clearly want to be rescued; however, if they ask to be ended and their fear chemical levels do not agree, then this issue becomes less one-sided. A person who asks to be killed and yet fears death wants to survive. I would explain their inner turmoil and ask them to tell the truth...and most likely spend my time helping them because no one who fears death really wants to die...unless they fear life more.
There’s a small child that has been injured by your power. Do you try to help this child recover and take care of them or do you end their life, saving them from permanent scarring, both physically and emotionally? Who am I to make that call? Either I leave a child to grow into another man who hates me, or I fuel the hatred against me with a child martyr. Statistically speaking, children want to live regardless of disability or scarring. I refuse to make an adult's decision for a child.
Being one who can read truth in invisible chemicals, I can tell you that mankind's intolerance stems from fear. That said, I'm very unsure whether I could mend that fear. I could very well end it by killing them--but don't read into that for more than statement value. See, I believe that fear can be mended. Intolerance can be curbed. I'm not really the person to do the mending, but I don't believe that shunning humanity is the correct answer. This idea could easily change over time. Hypothetical questions aren't worth much, after all.
