He's relatively unscathed in the wider picture. :3

@Carina All the other baddies are spies, so I think you'll have to put up with me. XD

Ohmygod. You guys are crazy! I'm asleep for one night and this thing explodes. XD

@Carina that works! Shifters are usually limited to one animal or animal family (like canines), though I suppose turning into any animal could happen. Within reason, of course.

@Shadowlight they own the local blood donation centre and/or buy blood bags from it. They also have groups of willing donors, both in town and in the manor. They're on-call, so to speak.

@queerelves Don't worry about it, then. As long as we get what your description is trying to tell us, I think we can manage.

@Noelle I think Zana & Sheila would definitely get along lol, at least most of the time!

Yes, it does seem like they would get along. Especially since Sheila has a bubbly personality. She's less likely to be completely taken aback from Zana's comments and such xD
Noelle is the name, reviewing and writing cliffhangers is the game.

Writer of fantasy, action/adventure, and magic. Huzzah!

I suppose so. Do try to keep fairly true the lore, though. (Disney doesn't count, lol)

So, because this is Irish legend and what not. and because the thread needs a bump. I thought I'd come in and talk about faeries. (some local Lore happenings.

To preface this, I'll explain what a Fairy Fort is. It's a circle of trees (usually on top of a hill), where it is possible to walk inside, and around and what have you. The legend says that if you take something from a Fairy Fort, or damage it, you will have a lifetime of bad luck, or they'll take your first born child, or both. I think it depends, really.

A while back, maybe 15 years ago, a local farmer (when I say local, I mean local. I know him.), who had a FaIry Fort on his land, decided to bulldoze it and build a house there, as his wife was expecting a child. So he did, he tore down all the trees and the builders got to work.

While living in that house, the family has buried 6 children- all of them stillborn. The family decided to move, and rent the house. Four couples have lived there, and every child the occupants of the house tried for children, they were all miscarried or born stillborn. It's further backed up by the fact that all five couples had perfect reproductive health, and were all able to have children, as long as they didn't live there. The original owners live there now, with their only son. This isn't a 'i heard this of some lad who heard it off..' kind of story. I've talked to two of the families that have lived there.

It gets creepier again, when you take into account that many people who believe in the old faeries (and there are many) know them to be spirit people, which coincides with some old legends. If spirits are taking your children, then it's easy to put two and two together and say that they took their souls.

Second legend, coming from my Mam. She has first hand experience with the banshee.

My great Granny, Granny o' Brian, died in the family home. She had gone to bed early, because she had been feeling unwell for a couple of days, and was still feeling terrible. About two hours later, people started coming over to my Mam, who was lying on the couch with her arms folded, and her head buried in them. Everyone thought she was crying. Everyone said they could hear a low sobbing sound. Over time it became louder. Then it suddenly grew into violent shrieks. She says they sounded so sad and hopeless. Sure enough, the next day they found that Granny O' Brian had died in her sleep.

A bit of lore surrounding the banshee: Apparently, the banshees are fairy women, who were friends with the old Irish families- usually one banshee per family. All the old families head either O' or Mac in their name. They say the banshee cries at mortality itself. They say that she doesn't show herself to the family anymore, for fear of growing attached. Banshees are immortal, so imagine being life long friends with a certain family, then having them all die for centuries. I'd cry too.

So that's some local stuff. I hope I succeeded in reminding people that this SB still exists.

Also maybe @StellaThomas has some other stories to share, for character help, of course. ;)
