So, about your characters, be unique with them, they don't actually have to be real. They can come from anywhere, but let's try to keep them in this era, so we can have more realistic missions

Take your time with your character templates, I would rather have great characters than hastily and sloppily made ones.

How far into the future is this?

Not far, but far enough that freezing people in time is a thing, but only for the government and rich people.
