The final day of the school week has arrived, and with it, a lampshading title. The opening paragraphs even come close to breaking the fourth wall.

Miss Antoinette decides to hold a competition of sorts. All Darren and Minerva have to win is create the most potions by the end of the period.

The competition ends with Malcolm and Seamus winning the chocolate. Afterwards, Darren and his friends discuss the Venipede and his foul nature.

The time for Experience has arrived, and with it, the last three scenarios of the week. Darren has to face Leslie, but are the odds in his favour?

Like many teenagers, Darren Cassidy, a fifteen-year-old Electrike, has left his assignment to the very last minute; now he must face the consequences.

Few like Mondays - or rather, Diadays - and Darren is no exception. Of course, he has other reasons than pure laziness, but more on that later...

Behaviour is ordinarily a boring class, but for Darren, it will prove to be very stressful. Is it normal nerves, or is something else the matter?

After the dreaded presentation, Darren reveals the truth to Aiden. After that, the day ends with an interesting lesson on terrain-inducing moves.

An interesting class with Mr Kana not only teaches Darren something new, but it also reminds him not to underestimate people - especially family.

The first school day of the week is over, but since Darren didn't receive any homework, he decides surprise his mother by spending the day with her.

It's a new day, with new lessons. However, in Evolution, the class must go through the previous day's surprise test - which wasn't too bad after all.

The day continues with the week's first Alchemy & Nutrition lesson, and with Minerva as Darren's partner, he never needs to worry about being bored.

Darren's Alchemy & Nutrition lesson takes a surprising turn, causing things to heat up - in both senses. (The corny pun is for the weekly challenge.)

It is time for class with the dreaded Wicked Watchdog of the West, as Darren accurately states. Coincidentally, that lesson's topic concerns Monsters.

Battle strategies often employ sleep as a condition, so it's only natural that Mr Kana would discuss it. Nobody expected a demonstration, though.

Mr Kana's continued lesson on incense, while interesting, proves to be more unusual than his students had expected. But hey, everyone has those days.

Darren and company arrive at the long-awaited Battle class, but instead of getting to battle, the teacher instructs them to do some exercises first.

After completing his exercises, Darren is finally alllowed to stop his assault on the plush toy. But before he can fight, he must first wait his turn.

The first true battle scene in the novel ensues as Nicole and Duncan spar. Darren and Minerva eventually jump in too, but their own battle must wait.

In response to the promised battle at the end of the week, Aiden discusses Minerva's moveset with Darren. Well, maybe "quizzes on" is more accurate...

The next lesson is Experience, the most boring of all. But Malcolm, ironically, saves the day by ensuring the class must roleplay in battle scenarios.

Experience ends with some unlikely winners of the scenarios. However, one of these winners soon learns that some people do not take losing very well.

Darren woke in a foul mood and did not expect much of the day ahead. However, one must never underestimate the invigorating effect of friendship.

Mrs Williams is considered the most intimidating of all the teachers. Though this is partly due to her species, her conduct certainly affirms it.

Many surprises await Darren, Aiden, and Tyler when they head to class for the second period. Well, perhaps "surprise" is too positive a word...

When Mr Cameron announces both a free period and his planned departure the next week, the class speculates as to why. Sadly, his motive evades them.

After Aiden left, Darren finds the village's fortune-teller having an odd conversation with his mother. The subject, of course, is never revealed.

After Darren leaves the power station, he and Aiden start mapping Dalton Village. They also discuss the residents of the village.

Darren, Aiden and Minerva continue to map the village, but they realise it is taking a lot of time. Therefore, they opt to complete it faster.
