TommySneak Wow, way more time has passed than I realized. You honestly sound a lot like me after my freshman year, landing a job and a head full of ideas and all. Hopefully it was a great first year for you, too!

Nothing terribly interesting or new with me. Just getting ready for Freshman Year Part 3 or maybe gap year. Not sure yet.

Rook Freshman Year Part 3 sounds like a horror movie D:

My spurt of creative juices is kind of like, all over the place. First I want to paint, then I want to work on a new video game, then I want to make videos, then I want to write a podcast, then I want to... just do everything! I'm all day-dreamy too. This state of mind just came upon me last week, so it's definitely pretty new. I hope it keeps up. Last time something like this happened, I crashed really hard after.
I feel like... a solar-flare or something.

Hopefully you can get your life figured out! I'm rootin for ya

TommySneak Inspiration and creativity are so tenuous, right? One moment you can be full of these brilliant ideas, and then the next you're struggling to tie your shoes and eat without missing your mouth. It really sucks when its gone and nothing you do can bring it back. Temperament of a cat, in a way. Sounds like you've been up to quite a bit, though! Mind if I see some of the fruits of your endeavors?

I only have musical projects these days. Finally picked up the piano, and hoping to reacquaint myself with the guitar fairly soon.

Ooh music projects!
I tried reading sheet music for piano today. Out of three pieces, I was able to successfully get through half of one. I'm definitely a play by ear sort of person.
Any music projects you can share?

TommySneak I think that's the first time someone has thanked photobucket, sarcastic or otherwise.

And to give some credit to yourself, sight reading piano sheet music is much harder than most other music, at least in my very super duper extra mega deluxe humble opinion. The keys make playing by ear easier too, it's pretty straightforward. But again, super etc etc humble opinion.

And nothing I'm terribly thrilled about, honestly. I'm never really satisfied with my work for long.

And I wouldn't call it sight reading. But I don't really have the patience to really learn it to a point where it wouldn't be sight reading hehe

TommySneak So they say. At least the dissatisfaction is an imperative to always get more gooder at music and junk or something.

I actually kind of agree with you about sight reading, though. If I hadn't been forced to for so long, I more than likely wouldn't. The process to become just beyond mediocre at it still felt borderline masochistic. But then again, me and vegetables were mortal enemies at the time too, so my experience with it probably isn't terribly relevant to you. I do still think it's worth it though. Plus. if you ever aren't upset with yourself and you really want to be, it's the perfect solution

Rook I took piano lessons for six years back in gradeschool/middleschool days. Always had trouble with my left hand doing anything and being able to sightread without super long pauses between chords. I was ok at it when I started, you know, with the easy stuff, but then I moved on to more upperlevel stuff and i just couldn't do it. something I already disliked doimg became an exercise in controling my self hatred and guilt whenever I had my weekly lesson. Then I switched to voice lessons for like a year. enjoyed that much more. but I felt like I was just being a burden on my family financially so I quit. I was in choir in school anyway.
I do miss my teacher though. She was so nice all the time. Gave me presents a lot.
