*Tentatively pokes foot into water*

Well, it seems safe enough to me! :D Hello! I'm Artemis of the Hunt, but you can call me Artemis. ^^ I hail from the distant land of YWO, so I am not new to writing forums. I thought this site looked intriguing, so I decided to see what it's all about.

I am a Fantasy junkie -- I eat, drink, and breathe it, so I'll most likely be submitting and critiquing fantasy work (unless I am asked for a critique of a non-fantasy work, in which case I'll be happy to oblige. )

Um, lemme see...I think that's about it. Thank'ee very much! ^^

Hey there Artemis!

You'll find a lot of people who love fantasy on site so you're definitely not alone there! There's even a group for fantasy junkies-- so join, I think you'll fit right in! :D

So, onto the questions

Favourite book/author?
Favourite colour?
What made you choose your user name (which is really cool by the way)?
What are your hobbies?
Favorite musicians/bands?

:D

Four kinds of people I hate most in life.
1. People who use a preposition to end a sentence with.
2. People who can't count.
3. People who think it's 'clever' to quote ironic phrases.

Hiya! I tried YWO, but found it much too confusing. I am a YWS girl!

So you like to write fantasy? May I suggest you join the group Pirates Cove? Here is the link: viewgroup.php?f=334

At pirates cove, we teach members how to walk, talk and act like a real pirate! We want to spread the knowledge! I even have a trivia forum, where you can answer questions and earn prizes such as reviews and points so you can post your stories!

To view groups, at your top bar, to the right side, hover over groups and go down to 'group index.' They are really fun! There are groups about anything you can think of!

PM if you need any help, or just a friend!

Hello Artemis, my name is Lisa, but you can call me Captain Cutthroat. In fact, I prefer it. Anyways, why not tell us a little about yourself?

1.) Favorite food?
2.) Biggest pet peeve?
3.) Do you prefer to type or handwrite?
4.) Ninjas or Pirates. (Choose wisely)
5.) If you could be any article of clothing what would you be and why?

Have fun, YWS is a pretty rad place.
I am not addicted to reading, I can quit as soon as I finish one more chapter.

Hi Artemis, welcome to YWS! I've never been on YWO but I'm sure you'll like YWS no matter how much you liked it there. We have cookies *hands a cookie*. Come to the dark side(just kidding we are angels here).
Question time :)

What's your favorite color?
What's your favorite band?
Is there any other genre you would be willing to at least try out?

PM me if you have any questions or just want to talk.

Hiya Art, (if you don't mind being called that) and welcome to the wonderful world of YWS! :D I've been on YWO before... over the summer I think. I don't recall what I posted, but I am a member. But like classy, I prefer YWS! :D

So just out of curiosity, how did you pick out your name? Artemis largely relates to Selene, a Greek moon goddess, and was often identified with her along with Diana. She was no doubt a hunter, for she was usually seen with beautiful longbows. Hehe, but I'm rambling now. :smt005 Selene's a main character in my novel evidently named Forever Dream. It's my little baby and I just love talking about it. ^_^

I think I'll leave it at that, because I see all the good questions have been asked.

Have a question? PM me and I'll be happy to help! :D

Hi Artemis, this is Ellie.
Welcome to YWS! I tried YWO, but, like captain.classy, I found it to be a little confusing! It's so cool that you could join us.
You like Tolkien, yes? I absolutely love the Lord of the Rings ;)
As Onyx said, there is a group for fantasy junkies. Oh, and if you like Batman, check out the link in my sig.

That's all for now! I hope you have a great time on YWS, and don't be afraid to PM me if you have any questions =)

Thanks for the welcomes, guys! Wow, lots of questions, Onyx. Goody. *rubs hands together*

Favorite book/author: Hmm...probably The His Dark Materials series by Phillip Pullman. That's an old favorite of mine. Though Harry Potter will always hold a special place in my heart, being the books that introduced me to the fantasy genre.
Favorite colour:BLUE!
Why, thank you! :D I chose my username because I love Greek/Roman Mythology, and Artemis is an epic, if overlooked, goddess. :D The moon, the hunt, the wild -- which goddess has such awesome spheres of influence?
Hobbies: Reading, writing, running, fencing (I'm new at it, though), listening to music...normal, everyday stuff. *shrugs*
Favorite musicians/bands: Hmm...I listen to whatever, really. Don't really have a preference. I like to listen to movie soundtracks, because they help me write. ^^

Jaywing/Sae: I'm Iridescence on YWO. Muhahaha. ;)

Pirates Cove sounds...um...*tries and fails to think of cool pirate-y word* ...Arrgh? *blink* Haha, I'll check it out. ;)

Yaaay, more questions! :D

Favorite Food: Grapes! They're nature's bite-sized candies! *mouth waters*
Biggest Pet Peeve: Geez, I have a lot. Since this is a writing site, though, I'd have to say dog-ears. When people mark their places in a book by folding the top corners of the page. That irritates me! I mean, they invented bookmarks for a reason! *end rant* xD
Typing vs. Handwriting: Typing, typing, typing! I don't have the right penmanship to write out my stories manually. Ugh.
*facepalm* Ninjas vs. Pirates here, too!? Gah! Well, I choose wolves! Hah! Because wolves are the best overall. :P I'm sorry, I honestly can't choose. Ninjas are epic in their mysterious kick-butt way, but pirates have more fun, I think. ;)
Article of Clothing: Hmm...Odd question, Captain. I'd have to say...a scarf. It seems to be the safest one, really. I'd never be shoes, for obvious reasons, and if you were a hat you'd risk lice and dandruff and lots of nasty stuff...yeah. A scarf would be my best bet. :P

Peanut -- Yay, cookie! *accepts cookie with a curtsy* I've answered all your questions but one! Hmm...I suppose science fiction, since it's very close to fantasy (hehe, I cheated), but I'd also be willing to do realistic fiction, too. It would just be the really weird realistic fiction that borders, ever so slightly, on fantasy. :P

Yay, Selene! Another Artemis lover! Sure, you can call me Art. ^^ Yesh, Artemis is one of my favorites, indeed -- being one of the few chaste goddesses and all, besides Athena, who is also very epic in her wise, war-like way. Art seems to me like the calmest, most nature-influenced of all the gods and goddesses (though she had her fair share of wrath and destruction). *grins*

Hullo, Ellie! To be honest, I've never read Lord of the Rings *prepares to be smote by lightning* I just never got my hands on the book. *shrugs* I'd like to, though, just to see what all the fuss is about. After reading Eragon, though, I'm a little wary toward medieval-type fantasies. ^^;

You all seem very nice! Once I figure out how this forum works (I'm very confused...), I think I'll be more settled in. Thanks!

Welcome to YWS, Artemis! It's a pleasure to meet you! I'm WD. I also like to write fantasy! Once you get the hang of things, you might want to consider joining the usergroup we have for fantasy writers here, The Fantasy Fools. You would find us under the Group Index under Groups! :D Great to see you on YWS! I can't wait to read some of you writing should you post it. Are you working on anything currently? Again, welcome to YWS! If you have any questions or just want to talk, feel free to PM me!

I hate to invade on Art's newb thread...
But I have to say... JustDance, you pretty much quoted what all of us who hail from YWO have being saying over there. We have gotten many YWS people coming over to YWO... curious...

Some people back here would say that Iri is a little obsessed with fantasy, wolves, and Artemis.
