gem gEM GEEMMM !!! my head is swimming from the poetry I'm reading from you (and that is an absolute compliment, because it means I am physically feeling your poetry and immersed in it!)
Ah! Every single poem you write here is so distinct and formatted in different ways, according to their subject matter and tone, and they all carry such intense imagery and emotion that I LOVE!
I am but a turned over cup of sludge
pretending to be coffee

and it creaks eternally but it cannot be seen everyone was told since birth

dry sitting in your mouth in powdery crumbs travelling down your throat like lumps and into your chest like rocks

Some lines that really stood out to me (but let's be real, I feel like all your poems are standouts at this point)
And the way poem #6 is about arguing with another person and so the entire poem feels like a back and forth dialogue that cuts each other off, mimicking a real argument - GENIUS!!!?? i love that so much!
Keep up the beautiful work! <333

trying to rearrange the shelves when
everything has fallen
cracked into fragments on cement
its not broken it just needs some woodglue
picking up each peice and spacing them a cemtimeter apart
on the surface, pouring slow yellow glue on each
and drying them there until they cant ever fall again
sometimes healing
is making sure nothing slips away from you

I'm here sitting with my oc and he's judgementally staring into my soul
My melatonin hit hard and then subsided I'm waiting for it to work
I know I will need coffee tomorrow

today i made pancakes and i didn't think of you until they were gone
i was never upset about our bond- just the bite it took out of me when you stopped
we always joked on those sunny mornings that we were a symmetry piece
and it took you disappearing for while - for me to find the lines where we separate
i remember when we'd blur the lines and i'm not sad anymore
the pancakes i made today were fluffy and crisp like memories
it's probably odd to outside eyes but pancakes were special for us
they were a thing we did together despite the distance- to spite it even
what's more familial than breakfast together in the morning
using the same recipe and trying to improve ourselves together
across the world it felt like we were borrowing each others ingredients
which is probably why it hurt when it stopped- i knew i was by myself
but i don't feel alone anymore and the symmetry is reforming
only now i'm whole not borrowing you as a half
i've found family in myself

you like long strands of sweet licorice that you'll shove into your mouth whole
i like small bite sized segments; i don't even like licorice yet here i am eating it
you are my licorice; bitter clinging to my tongue- throat- tonsils until i'm sick
you are devoured in awful bite sized peices until i can't stand it anymore
and i hold no secrets in my disdain, yet here we are twisted together
as one horrible candy; do you know sugars boiling point
if you turn the stove burner precisely to the degree of hate
the sugar will gump up and turn black inside
refusing to let anyone go about their business
without sticking up and cat calling them until they have to turn
pick up the vile creature and bite off its head
i think you do know
it was probably how you were brought into the world

can i shake the black hole out of my keypad? [IT response pending]

ever so often i get stuck in that certain place of thought
where i wonder if it's about time i vacuumed my shingles.
i think i need to dust my shower and mop my bed because
i've been staying planted in one while dreaming so vividly of the other
the water actually crossed the veil; sleepworking isn't a talent but a hardship
even when i've stopped plucking out a thesis, and by god do i hate conclusions
my sore fingers press the computer strings and there i am again.
i haven't typed on my guitar in an hour but it feels like ages;
when can i break the shutters in half and make pasta?
i want to breathe the grass until i regret it, my favorite air freshener;
tell me, when i am allowed to polish my coffee mug and pretend it's a lake?
break off a pine branch tooth brush and stir the kettle;
anymore i only want to burn green wood on the campfire,
and i think it's because the bees are mocking me
they dance less in the smoke & i don't dance at all.

Yeeeeees. Also "IT response pending" is such a freaking mood. And a truth. And honestly sets up the rest perfectly ("typed on my guitar"!), and honestly the last two lines. Yes.

@Meshugenah @LadySpark thank you both so much <3333 i worked on the last three poems especially hard so your comments are so appreciated.

also i plan on doing both my threads long after napo just because it's a perfectly healthy balance in my life honestly <3 so if you want you can continue to comment

my scarred arms have gotten tanned this spring
i once wore long sleeves to hide these marks and the ugliness
of breaking pieces of myself to try to fit into misshapen skin
my eczema was always marked off as growing pains
that is shameful, they would say- don't scratch yourself raw
but they never noticed me writhing to try to fit inside
i was a caterpillar in those days- stuck inside a cacoon
is it so shameful to be set free of the pain
i found a lotion that finally worked to soothe my skin
and i haven't used it in weeks; isn't that masochistic
my arms are making that progression toward scarring once more
but the scars are a part of me; i finally realized the errors here
scars are not shameful, nor are they ugly; i was told they made me unlovable
but i love myself just fine

so many good concrete imagery metaphors that you are able to dissect into poetry - like the pancakes, or the shelves. you don't really seem to hold back on delving into the uncomfortable / hurt - and the poetry really packs a punch because of that. enjoying reading your voice! <3
