The Official* "I've Returned to YWS" Thread

Just realised the title makes this thread sound really egotistical! I'm going to leave it though for amusement's sake.

This thread is not about me but rather for anybody who used to be active on YWS and disappeared and has now returned in the wake of the mass e-mail campaign, sheer curiousity, or me badgering you on Facebook, or some other reasons.

I figured people could "reintroduce" themselves, so to speak.

Hi everybody, I'm Jack, I used to be somewhat active in 2005 and have hung on to the coat tails of that productive year ever since. I used to write poetry and went from terrible to sort of average, before abruptly stopping for some reason. There were also some attempts at writing a few novels at some point. I also used to be an Administrator. But most importantly, I once slept on Nate's sofa.

*Not actually in any way Official.

Hey, i'm Ross! Retro on here. Was quite active last year and the year before...possible the year before. I write poetry mainly....no idea why i stopped. Thought i'd try and start again

Welcome back, Ross! Great to have you back. Start writing poetry, and I will start reviewing it.

I'm June, and I don't think I'm much of a writer anymore, unless academic papers count. I was always more of a reviewer than a writer around here anyway, so that's pretty much what I'm here to do now, unless cats are promised in exchange for writing.

Hello. My name is sabradan, but most of those who know me, call me Sab.

I was active here when Jack and Jiggity were. I wrote bad poetry and mediocre historical fiction. I'm not how much of a writer I am anymore (unless you count academic writing, which I will be submitting for review, just to get extra eyes on it), not does the monicker 'young' really apply to me anymore, either. It was almost 10 years ago when I was active here. Consider that for a moment.

When I left YWS it was a dark, dark time. No one was reviewing, Nate was no-where to be seen, all the writers who WERE posting were newbies who I didn't know, and their writing was, if I can be frank, so bad that I didn't even want to leave reviews for fear of hurting their feelings needlessly. So I swore that I would never return.

Yet, for reasons unknown (and the fact that if I returned Jack said he would let my family go) I have, like a Roman general, returned in triumphal glory.

Prepare the garlands of flowers! Clear out the halls and the temples! Line the streets with adoring people and the standards of hundreds of conquered Nations! For the Old Guard has returned.
