The blue walls of my room are bright, very bright; the carpet is a green of equal vividness. There is a small bed to the side, and a chair with a computer and a lamp to the other. Close to the desk is a white door, which I'm guessing leads to a closet.

An hour ago, I would have been overjoyed. I would have touched the walls, the carpet, fascinated by everything. I would have messed with the computer, explored the closet. Now I sit on my bed, staring at the folder which is still clutched tightly in my hands. I am not real. I am a robot, a puppet, a science experiment. I am different. Those words run over and over in my head, making my gut clench and my hands shake. I'm not real.

It's too much. I need to distract myself. Throwing the folder on the purple comforter - every color in my room is enthusiastic - I turn on the laptop and press buttons randomly. There is a picture of a folder. Why is that there? Curious, I click it, then click it again. The computer whirrs, and a video pops up. A young man with a rather large nose and a tight-fitting tank top is flipping over backwards. He does it again; then he does it a third time. I am fascinated now. Unceremoniously shutting the laptop, I make sure I have enough space lest I hit my head or something when I fail. Then, I flip.

It's easy, so easy. I do it perfectly, first try. I land on both feet, and I land without slipping and falling on my backside. If I had been watching myself, I'd say I did it even better than the man in the video.

"This must be what observational learning means," I murmur to myself. And I am very good at it. It's my robot gift.

Sinking into another depression, I leave my room and wander down the hall.
When you asked me what Was wrong I wanted for dinner, I said "Nothing". But as I turned away I whispered, "Everything."

I walk into the room- apparently MY room and look around expecting it to be as white and desolate as the lab room was.

But it’s not.

The walls are all painted a silvery shade of green that remind me of the garden we visited earlier.
The carpet under my feet is a similar shade to the walls, thick and amazingly comfortable- Like I could just sleep on it all night and be perfectly content.
A single bed sits in the far interior of the room, covered in a thick pale blue bedspread that looks almost as good as the carpet, a small white wooden desk sits on the other side of the room right in front of a wall length glass widow that reflects light all throughout the room.

In front of the desk sits a very comfortable looking green armchair, facing the pale green laptop that sits on the desk.

Laptop?

I walk a little closer to get a better look at it.
A sticker with my name on it sits on the top left hand corner.

Mine? I have my own laptop? Why?

I shake my head to clear the thoughts and continue to take inventory of the room.
There is another door, painted the same shade of white as the other, just past the bed.

Probably a closet or something like that...

Apart from that there is a small mirror hanging of the left wall and a tiny bookshelf containing a few blank books in one corner.

After scoping out the room properly I make my way back to the bed, sitting down.

What now?

I stand up, walk over to the window and gasp.

It’s perfectly.

The beautiful garden we saw before sits just outside of my window looking just as peaceful as it did when we we’re there earlier.

I sit down at the desk and just stare at it for a minute wishing I could be out there right now.

Then I turn.
Who even knows if I will get to go out of there again?
I turn the laptop on, in spite of anything else to do.
The first thing to pop up is my ‘file.’
Then something else comes up.

It’s titled flashbacks.

Flashbacks? Like what happened earlier?
I’m about to click on the page to see what it says when I notice somebody outside, walking around in the garden.

After a minute they disappear behind a bend-before I can properly see who it is- and curiosity wins out.

I shut the laptop gently; walk over and out of the door.
The hallway is empty and there are no other doors open.

Slowly I try to find my way back down the maze of corridors that we walked earlier, not really knowing where I’m going or where I’ll end up.
Maybe I can ask somebody along the way...

After Dr. Marexon left, I get an idea. My room seems awfully sterile, so I decide to make it a little more interesting.

I walk down to the garden and start picking the most colorful flowers I could find. Once I have a fistful of them, I walk in circles around the garden, in search of a big stick--preferably something about the size of a baseball bat. After a few unsuccessful laps, I walk to the big tree in the middle of the garden, hoping that a recent storm might have torn a few limbs off. I'm in luck--one of its branches, about two inches thick, is hanging by just a few strips of bark. I reach up and tear it off, being careful not to hurt the living branches in the process.

I shift the branch in my arms, so it won't crush the flowers, and start back up toward my room. This is perfect, I think. Now I just have to find some sort of hook, in case I ever want to change the walls again...

I round a corner, and almost run into someone. "Zoe!" I exclaim.

"Hi, Aster," Zoe says. "Do you remember how to get to the garden?"

I nod. "Go that way, and then down the first staircase," I instruct. "Then take a left, and it's the first door on your right."

"Thanks," Zoe replies. She takes a step, as if to leave, but then pauses, looking at my fistful of flowers. "What are you doing with those?" she asks.

"The walls in my room are reflective," I explain. "So I'm going to pound dents in them and set these up in a circle around the edges of my room. It should create a kaleidoscope effect."

"The walls in my room are reflective," He explains, "So I'm going to pound dents in them and set these up in a circle around the edges of my room. It should create a kaleidoscope effect."

I think about my own room and how it’s- green with a silvery tint- not all that colourful.

I smile, “That sounds like a really good idea,” I tell him, “My walls aren’t reflective or anything but they could use some more colour..."

I make a guesture towards the flowers in his hand, "Besides, they're pretty."

Just then another doll- a boy with purple spiky hair- all but falls out of his room.
I walk over, slowly, trying to judge what happened.

“Are you okay?” I ask.

I meet Zoe, Aster and Alex in one of the corridor's on my way to tell them that we have to be going to dinner soon.

"Hi, guys," I say, "What are you doing?"

Aster explains that he is decorating his room, Zoe staes that she was headed for the garden and Aex says that there was a snake in his room so he ran out.

I nod turnin first to Alex, "I... I don't think there would be a snake in you're room," I say hesitantly, "Although last summer when we were putting the furniature in one of the scientists brought her son with her. He liked plush toys a lot and I'm pretty sure one of them was a snake toy... Was it purple."

He nodds, "Them I'm guessing that it was just something he's left behind. I'm sorry."

He nods again, looking a little relieved.

I turn to Aster, "That sounds wonderful but we all have to be getting ready for dinner soon. My father... he's going to be talking about training and equiptment and stuff and I'm not sure anyone would wan't to be late."

Both Zoe and Aster nod and I tjurn away to look at the other Doll's doors, knowing I have to tell them about this too.

"There care clothes in all of you're wardrobes that you can wear for dinner," I guesture to the plain grey singets and slacks that each doll was issued right after they were made in place for the hospital gowns.

"Go and get ready and I'l meet you all back out here in ten minutes I tell them walking off to the next dolls door, feeling a little distracted.

Calmly I walk back into my room and open the door of the wooden cupboard, sifting through the clothes the pop out.

After a while I pull out a soft green cotton dress with a cool pattern up the side from the back somewhere and put it on, discarding the drab grey suit I’d been stuck in since waking up.
The dress is nice, amazingly comfortable and fits almost perfectly stopping just before my knees. Slowly I look into the mirror and grin. I look slightly more normal now.

I think green is my favourite colour…. I have a favourite colour! I’m almost normal! I shake my head and look back into the cupboard, searching for shoes.

There are all types of things, heels, flats, all sorts of fancy things but the first thing that my eyes pick up on is a rather casual pair of black lace-up sneakers. Converse.

I grin pulling out a pair of socks and tugging the shoes on over them. Then I pull out a brush tat is also conveniently nearby and run the brush through my hair, detangling all of the knots that have formed from sleeping in a cage for however long.

How long to dinner now? I look at the clock and immediately run out of the room, with only minutes to find my way to the dining hall.
How am I supposed to find it? Maybe I can ask someone? Am I too dressed up? Maybe I should’ve just gone with the jeans…

Just then I stumble into a wide room with a long wooden table stretching all the way through it. Some of the other dolls I saw in the garden before are already there.
The dining hall! I let out a breathe of relief and breeze over to the table wondering who I’m supposed to sit next to.

The gray suit is getting...itchy. That's the word. It's getting itchy, so I start digging through my closet for another outfit. There are a lot of button-up shirts and khaki pants, but I choose a pair of dark gray pants instead, noticing how well they match my hair. Then I grab two turtlenecks, figuring it would be cold in the dining hall, and hold them up in front of me. With my room being a kaleidoscope, I'm surrounded by the colors I'm wearing, and the little differences and errors are starting to get to me. I look at the two turtlenecks, decide that the purple one clashes too much with my eyes, and put on the maroon one instead.

After putting on a pair of lace-up boots, I look up a map on my laptop, memorize it, and walk down to the dining hall just in time for dinner. A few of the others are already at the table, and Zoe seems to be deciding where to sit. I stop behind her and survey the table. Ten places--one for each of us, and two for Krista and Dr. Marexon.

Zoe's wearing a green dress with a rather interesting pattern on the side. I'm about to compliment her, but I'm distracted by a smell--presumably from the kitchen. It isn't a savory smell--it was sweet, and rich. Whoever is cooking must be starting dessert.

"Excuse me," I say, my voice echoing through the hall. "Does anyone know what that smell is? It's rather nice..."

I brush down my dress, pulling out a seat towards the middle of the table when Aster asks, "Does anyone know what that smell is? It's rather nice..."
Suddenly a delicious aroma wafers towards me from the room I imagine to be the kitchen and I turn to look through the only window I can see, looking back at Aster when I answer. “I’m not sure but whatever it is, I can’t wait for dessert.”

I look around at the other dolls, noticing that some are still missing… They probably got lost in the corridors… like I did.
Everything is really quiet before a few more dolls rush in. Everyone takes their seats and then Doctor Marexon starts to speak.

Doctor Theodore Marexon

Once all of the dolls reach the dining hall and take their seats I rise from my chair, taking but a second to watch each of them, checking for signs of the emotion I now know that they must be feeling.
“Welcome, Everybody,” I greet, watching the look of apprehension leave some of their faces when I don’t immediately jump to the point, “I’m glad that you all managed to find your way here.”
“With great difficulty,” somebody a few seats along and a few of the Dolls laugh. I nod my head, waiting for them all to calm down.

“Anyhow, back to point, Now that you all have had time to take a short break and study your ‘profiles’ for a bit, It’s time to get serious. Tomorrow training will begin for each and every one of you and before anybody goes to bed tonight you will be issued with a ‘schedule’ for the next week.

Each of you will be expected to take three, what you make think of as training ‘classes’ that focus on each of your individual powers and how you may use them out in the Real world, Fighting and Self Defence Lessons and a basic class on the mechanisms of the World outside of this place.”

While I am speaking, several of the kitchen staff pile into the room, carrying a variety of differently shaped, silver trays. One by one they begin serving the dolls, piling every type of food under the sun onto the plates of the dolls, depending on what the preferences of the people are.

I continue speaking, “ During these classes, each of will be placed in a small group, depending on your ability levels so that you may help each other study and such…” I look down the row, watching as a few of the dolls turn to stare at each other, no doubt wondering about who they’ll be working with for the next week, However the people that you will be working with will change for every different class and at some point everybody will have a chance to work with each other. I’ll brief you on these groups as soon as dinner is finished.”

Slowly I take my seat again, just as the last of the waiters approach the table again—this time to serve drinks.
“Also if you have any preferences to who exactly that you wish to work with during separate classes then please just inform either Krista or myself and we’ll see what we can do.”

Then I turn my head to my meal and let them talk between themselves and eat the food that they have been served. We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow.

[ it's been a while since anyone's posted so I'm just going to go straight on with when we get our "shedules"... If that's okay? ]

-Zoe-

After dinner, the Doctor leads us back into the meeting room, walking back over the same filing cabinet that he got our Profiles out of earlier and a pang of nervousness runs through me.

Slowly he pulls out several more folders, each with a single name printed on the front.

Unluckly (or maybe luckily) for me these folders are handed out in alabetical order and I don't get my folder until the very end.

I take it with shaking hands, carefully flicking it open to stare at my assigned "schedule."

There are the names of other dolls , numbers and classes arranged neatly in what looks like an average timetable.

Carefully I look over it to see who I'll be working with.

I continued to explore my room , finding more and more interesting things as i walk around and through my room , i finally come back out to what i think is the start of the vine maze around my room , but is actually where a pod chair is , with books around it, i walk over and sit in the pod chair and start reading a book.

A few minuets , well hours , that felt like minuets later. i look up to see , aster staring at me with a puzzled look.
