Coolest Space Thing Ever

Space blows my mind, and it's full of awesome stuff. If you're a nerd like me, you may have already isolated your single favorite space concept, picture, or anomaly. Pictures of anomalies are also good.

So what's your favorite space thing ever?

Mine is the concept of heat death. Basically, some folks thing the universe will eventually run out of energy, and that's how everything will stop. Unless.... human kind gets their butt in gear and...

A. Creates an inter-dimensional portal. (My vote.)
B. Finds a truly renewable resource.
C. Builds a perpetual motion machine that can generate energy, and never ever stop. Which is impossible thanks to the biggest kill joy of all time: physics.

And string theory stuff. But I don't know enough about either to have an intelligent conversation, I only know of the basic concepts.

I'd still rather be in outer space than deep in the ocean *shudders*

How beautiful galaxies are. I look at images of them and just drool a bit. I'm like, "Psychedelic snowflakes. Yesss."

Mars exploration and colonization. Cannot wait to buy my one way ticket to the Red Planet and set up Matthew's Mine Supply Plus.

If I had to choose one, it would be voids.

The planets and stars. I think they're absolutely fascinating to study!

Black holes are perhaps the most amazing things in our universe. We know so little about them yet they influence our lives every second of every day. Right now our sun is orbiting a massive black hole in the center of the galaxy.They are invisible yet they are also the brightest objects in the sky. They create explosions tens of thousands of light years across. They literally alter the passage of time. But the most amazing thing about them is that they operate based on gravity, the weakest of the four non-contact forces in physics.
