Riley

I mom glances at the cut on the side of her arm before shaking her head and looking at me. I sigh, glancing away.
All you need is faith, trust, and a little bit of pixie-dust!

Grayson

I stay close to Riley, realizing that I'll probably have to be the first one to speak. Clearing my throat, I look at her parents, "Thank you."
I'm never what I like
I'm double sided
And I just can't hide
I kind of like it
When I make you cry
'Cause I'm twisted up, twisted up
Inside

Semiautomatic
twenty one pilots

I glance back at them and my mom just nods, sighing. I look down and she just looks at Mariah, her crawling over to them. She wraps her arms around my mothers legs.

The bigger the issue, the smaller you write. Remember that. You don’t write about the horrors of war. No. You write about a kid’s burnt socks lying on the road. You pick the smallest manageable part of the big thing, and you work off the resonance.
