Reading has long captivated my heart, even before kindergarten. My oldest memories consist of my dad buying me books, as he was a bookworm himself. Not long after that did I take an interest in writing wherein only I could control the flow of my own story. Writing has been and will always be my safe haven. It allowed me to voice out my unexpressed feelings, being the only sincere friend I had in elementary.
I've known poetry for quite some time, but didn't really pay that much heed to it. It wasn't until three of my eighth grade friends started making friends simultaneously. I remember them reciting their poems to each other and wanting feedbacks. Soon after, I too found writing them too. In a way, writing poems felt liberating and to this day, I am still a poet myself.
