We're calling for all poetry newcomers and enthusiasts alike, to help us revive the Poetry Club into a central hub for discussion and fun activities!

Anyone who is interested in volunteering, what we're looking for is someone to do and help with any one of these things:

    - Help spread the word/encourage friends to join the Poetry Club
    - Organize contests and poetry challenges for club members
    - Come up with regular quotes/photographs to inspire club members to write
    - Organize games and events to get to know everyone
    - Submit and review poetic & lyrical works
    - Come up with ideas, and help out in events
    - Write poetry tutorials
    - Participate and come up with new games and activities
    - Discuss poetry with club members!

Post below if you're interested in becoming a volunteer!

    Also:
    1. What would you like to help with/volunteer for?
    2. Is there something you would like to see changed or implemented in the club?
    3. Is there anything you would like to see the poetry club do for you, or any ideas you would like to contribute?
    5. How do you think we can revive the club?
    5. What would you like to discuss, in regards to poetry?
    6. Anything else you would like to say or add?
  2. I'm in.
  3. Oops. Submit button misfire.
Anyways. I'd like to help with as much as I can but... Right now my YWS activity levels seem to have gone down the drain. I'm trying to boost activity but I can't guarantee anything.
  4. I need someone to revive me back to poetry :p
  5. I'd like to help. :)
  6. Count me in
  7. I'm in

(And I could totally do the poetry inspiration prompt thing.^^)
  8. Cool! :O Thanks for responding everyone! I'll be sending a PM within ~24 hours with a game plan ^_^

@Noninjaspresent - I completely understand, and I'm glad you've brought up that concern, because I know a lot of us have lives outside of YWS!

Even though this looks like a lot of work, we've already amassed quite a few volunteers, so it'll be a group effort and long-term project. So whenever you have more free time, you're welcome to pop in and help at any time. That goes to everyone. I'm not really looking for *everyone* to be on and post *daily* activities (although, if you're able to do that - that'll be grand!) more like, I want everyone to know that we're here, we exist, and we're a team. You're welcome to stop by, chill, discuss, have fun and participate/help in however way you can!

I definitely don't want anyone to feel pressured feeling that they have to be active all the time, every time.

    @Animal - I'll make that my mission ;)

@umaima - Loove your contest =) Thanks for sharing that with us! I'll try to see if I can spread the word for that as well.

@wordsandwishes - Awesome! I'd love for you to be able to do that for us!

Anyone else who wants to volunteer, feel free to post! And again, I'll be sending a mass PM shortly. Thanks everyone!
  9. -Is totally volunteering!-

Hello~ >3 I'm going to help by trying to motivate everyone to remain active, like with my new forum you should all have seen by now: clubs/45/forum/71373 It would be great if you could give a little bit of time and reply to it.

I would love to see our club really draw together the entire YWS poetry community, like have the poetry mods as our mods, the active members be our watch-dogs and help keep things clean, and really Active!

For instance, we could use a forum where people could post up their poems if they want an analysis review instead of a grammar review! I know that some times it gets overwhelming with all of the grammar stuff that we have to fix, and the reviewers might not even touch on content of the poem, but I can't do it alone!

I think we can revive the club by having it pop up in the notifications more frequently, activity! If we have people who are actively involved in the club, and actively working with poetry, ours and famous poems, then we're going to really make this club better.

I would like to discuss style, poetic devices, and other conventions in poetry here. I think it would be a great thing to really get in depth about specifics in the poetry club. For instance: Haikus, Villanelles, Sonnets, etc. could each have their own forum with How to structure them, what the structure is best used for, and then examples.

Again, I have a lot in mind and it's a huge job. I can't do it alone. <3 I'm so glad everyone here is also thinking of reviving this club, it really could be amazing if we worked at it a little bit.
  10. Make sure you add me to that mass pm, I'm not sure how much time I have but I love me some poetry :D
  11. I'm not exactly sure what you're asking for, but I'd love to help. :)

I already have a little poetry review exchange thing going, it was inspired by Aley's poetry swap. At the moment no ones taken interest, but maybe if we get some poetry club members participating it will help get it noticed by non-members and might get them interested in the club. :)
