sorry if this doesn’t make total sense. I wanted to put it down somewhere.
    Spoiler
getting more sensitive and uncomfortable when it comes to things like horror and it almost feels like losing a part of me somehow.
things of that genre comforted me and now I’m uncomfortable with every mention of spirits and ouija boards when the main characters don’t even believe in God (honestly mostly referring to the show Supernatural.) not even baptized but I see the Lord working wonders in me.
maybe I’m healing from that part of my life. maybe I will gain something new that is in His name. it’s fascinating really.

It's difficult, but I think this acts as a signal that God is moving in your heart! <3 If you ever need to pm and chat, feel free to pm me! I get convicted a lot and have had to stop consuming a lot of content I once loved. It's not easy but it's worth it

I think that makes a lot of sense paigey! Scripture tells us that in faith even our hearts become transformed and renewed by the Spirit, rather than conformed to the world (Romans 12:2 + John 15) If we abide in Him, then He abides in us and makes our heart to look like His own. Which is sometimes very painful or even confusing.

I think media is a place where I see that happening in my heart a lot too - as I seek and discern scripture more, there's certain songs I used to love that I just don't care for anymore that feel dark, or twisted, or undermining of my value in Christ! It can be very personal though - as I'm sure there's some Christians that don't have any trouble with those songs / media in their own discernment.

I think it's good to listen to that voice of the Spirit that nudges you to say "no" to certain things though! Even if it's just for the quiet obedience of your own relationship with the Lord. As you mentioned, there's a sweetness to it too... as our hearts start to gain a greater appreciation for those things that draw us to Him... There are things I used to think of as being very boring and Christ has made lovely; listening to older people tell stories, watching nature, watering plants, sitting in silence... God has so much goodness for us and knows our hearts better than anyone else! Thanks for sharing some of your experiences!
